I think Pittman will have to fire Odom, I'd fire the whole defensive staff save the linebacker coach.
Odom is too stubborn, doesn't make adjustments. We couldn't stop the run with a 3 man front and they still were able to throw on us. Needed to bring pressure, the 2 times we brought pressure the results were incomplete passes.

I've never understood the love for him. If you're gonna have a shitty to average DC schematically, at least get one that is a hell of a recruiter.

Okay, let’s say you fire Odom. You bring in a guy that runs a better defense, gives up fewer points, and never loses anyone to injury or the portal.
Now what do you do about an offense that cannot sustain drives? Because it doesn’t matter if you resurrect the Steel Curtain defense, if you make them play 35-40 minutes per game, you’ll lose more than you win.

We were getting torched from kickoff. Unkess they were jetlagged from the flight to Mississippi, this is not the issue

I’m in… Odom has to go… bend but don’t break only works when you don’t break. We break more than we don’t. I want to at least see an aggressive front with pressure and proper fundamentals taught. Can’t play a 3 down front if your nose doesn’t command a double team.

I’ve acknowledged that the defense, the scheme, the fundamentals, everything about our defense is atrocious. What I’m saying is that our offense making our atrocious defense play 35+ minutes per game pretty much guarantees a loss.

Other than this and the Missouri State game we havent had lopsided TOP. Every other game it’s been within a minute or 2.
Quit using that as an excuse for every damn game, when it’s almost identical. They should expect to be on the field for 30m.

Do I need to post the first half time of possession again? They were on the field 20 of that 30 minutes in the first half.

Literally, the post above yours addressed this.
Also, against MSU they methodically gashed our D all the way down the field on almost every possession. That's going to eat clock.Maybe if the D could stop a wet fart they wouldn't be on the field so much.

Why would you think that, when our offense can’t stay on the field? Our defense can’t get off the field, our offense can’t stay on it. The big difference being half the offense hasn’t been hurt since game 1.

3 of those turnover on downs were the dumbest thing of the game plan on offense. Did Cam Little just forget how to kick or something? That’s 9 points left on the field. Could have been 34-26 if we just take the points.

Yeah, but they were rolling our defense. You aren’t doing anything trading field goals for touchdowns. I was okay going for it, but some of the calls were asinine, some just weren’t executed well.

Amazing watching this A&M game, we all know their offense sucks worse than ours but you know what’s kept them in the game? Their defense.
The SEC is won and lost on defense.
You know what we averaged per game last year per game first six games?
32 pts.
This year
30 pts
Last year we had Rice and Georgia Southern padded in there along with the shutout at Georgia.
Offense is still seeing the same general output.
Defense on the other hand
Gave up 2021
24.5
This year
32.1
Where are our biggest issues? We’ve regressed on Defense.
Watch any show nationally where they talk about Arkansas. They don’t hate on the offense. Their constant complaint our defense sucks.

We have to hit the transfer portal hard on the defensive side. Buckets of cash for actual players needs to be the name of the game.
