Other than Vanderbilt, is Miss State the hardest place in the SEC to win at?

Nobody has ever won big at Miss State. I know Mullen had that big year but that was an outlier. Seems like everything is stacked against Miss State, being between Alabama and LSU and in the same state as Ole Miss. Seems like even South Carolina has an easier path to success.

Umm miss state makes more effort than most, especially for what they have to work with, especially with a fellow conference and rival to go against every year.

I’ve learned to love miss state, vandy, not so much.

If Vandy didn’t have advantage in baseball, which they have benefited and capitalized on, they don’t do much. And you can brag about their academics, but those ppl are nothing like the everyday poster here. Their fans and players are, but not the ones brainwashed and cocky going to a university. Especially a woke private one who had a female on their football team.

I gotta give Leach credit for jumping into the fire. Could have just stayed out west and played much softer teams.

Wait until you find out what Vandy does to children in their hospital.

If you're not at the same level, then playing Georgia/Florida/Tennessee is just as hard as playing Alabama/LSU/Auburn. And Carolina plays Clemson every year, while State plays Memphis or Southern Miss.

Remember, Mullen DID have success there, while it took Steve Spurrier to win at South Carolina. And Jackie Sherrill also had State in Atlanta once. There isn't a second Carolina coach that has been good, in that time frame. I'd say State is easier, by a small margin.

I saw. I called vandy health one night because poli board was reporting they were full and what not. It wasn’t the case when I called all hospitals there. Yet they weren’t taking anyone, insane!!

Extra schollies iirc. Something in recruiting, ppl say it doesn’t matter, some believe it does, Vandy is good at baseball, who knows.

They have built their endowment to offer academic kids.

Everybody can do it, just few choose to do so.

1/2 scholly for sports
1/2 scholly for academics

It means more kids get an education they do not have to pay for

Pretty surprised more schools do not follow this model

SMH we’ve been over this. Vandy plays 100% within the rules in baseball. Even with opportunity Vanderbilt it’s still more expensive to attend Vandy than most other schools. There are lots of public schools that do what Vandy does, Michigan is one of them. There are even a couple in the SEC that do the same thing. Now… as far as the political bullshite goes Vandy is a cesspool.

While we are at some disadvantage, we have had success and competed well over the last thirty years, with the exception of 2002-2006 when we were just plain bad.
We have had pockets of success through the years…late 1930’s-mid forties, very sporadic through the 1950’s-1960’s when we mostly bad with an occasional good year.
Under Coach Tyler/Bellard, we had a decent run from 1973-1982.

So yes, it is a bit harder to win here but not impossible. We are in a great location, beautiful campus with a very underrated university, a small but bustling city. Players are treated very well here. As Dak said, we are not fans, we are family.
We obviously have recruited well over the last when you see decade how many State players dot NFL rosters.

Leach is where he wants to be and we will be successful under him.

It’s something only they can do iirc though, because of private status. Now it doesn’t really matter with NIL. So I guess my point is invalid anyways.

Michigan does it and they are public

Virginia does it and they are public

Just have to have a president and board with a longer view as setting up the endowments take time to have them grow and mature. The benefits don't accrue for maybe 30 years and most presidents are gone after 10. Human nature to want the short time solution so they get the accolades for it.

So that’s an advantage only a few have or have “taken advantage of”. Got ya.

I really don’t care but it’s nice to see I can still rattle cages around here

Sadly I haven’t participated in one game thread and haven’t watched CFB. Been a rough a very busy month or so. Not saying I haven’t had great times, either.

Weird, I call it discussion

That is how we learn

So you were trolling? I do not understand a concept where no benefit is obtained/
