I don't understand how we should pray. In secret, or in the streets

You don't understand because you're hung up on the what. The Bible doesn't particularly care about "what" when it comes to matters of worship. It cares about "why".

So should you pray in the streets? Yes. If your motivation is to glorify God. Should you pray in secret? Yes. If your motivation is to glorify God. If your motivation us to glorify yourself, you shouldn't pray regardless of the location.

One thing to consider when handling scripture - especially the Gosple accounts - is that this is a real moment in time which has been recorded. In the passage where Christ seemingly forbids public prayer, you had religious leaders who were trying to gain political power by out-righteousing each other. It was this attempt to manipulate the masses which Christ was condemning. Not the actions themselves.

Hey can we all just love one another and wish each other good luck on their respective quests in life?

Christians, I hope your children grow up to be good, devout soldiers of God. Liberals, I hope the children you don't abort grow up to be alphabet warriors in the highest order of Antifa who never touch a person of a different gender.

Now can we all just get along OTR? It's football season for crying out loud. Thank you.

Well... that's not what the bible says... in some places. It specifically says to pray in private. It doesn't say if I'M a fake to do that. It says to do that because others are fakes. It says that I can't trust myself to know the difference.

Also, stop dragging me back in. It's a dumb book. The whole religion is a dumb concept -

Perfect, all-knowing god created a project he isn't happy with. Impregnates a virgin on earth with his son to be killed and dead for a couple of days, which is the only way he could fix his massive fricked up ant farm he made in all his omnipotence. Then, he has a bunch of terrible writers write down a bunch of stories in their own words, many of which just happen to resemble older stories from older cultures and religions. And everyone is supposed to say, "Yep, that makes sense."

It's childish. I understand the need to believe there's a purpose and a better place in the end. But, this stuff is just silly.

Now, for real, adios.
