I've been to Vandy twice and we lost both times... I'm honestly afraid to go back.

We haven't had Amen Corner since 2019 at least

So you're the reason for those epic fails! Keep your arse out of Knoxville then!

Gonna be an interesting 11 months til next September.
With no insight into who might be coaching AU next year, I find it difficult to see more than 4 wins max on that schedule, based on what we have returning on the roster (and that's barring any transfers from potential contributors).

If you can give any rational justification in thinking we will win more than 4 games in 2023, and provide non-speculative evidence to support it, please enlighten us.

Everyone was predicting 9-3, 8-4 this year. Debbie Downer my arse.
If Saturday wasn’t a reality check then I don’t know what is. I fully expect us to beat Missouri this weekend and we might even crush them but after that it’s hard to find another win. By the time W.Ky comes around I have no idea what the coaching staff or mental make up of the team will be

That’s actually a very manageable schedule and makes me sad that we’re dealing with Harsin. If we had a good coach, he’d be in year 3 of rebuilding and establishing his program. Assuming good recruiting, his guys would be maturing into prominent playing roles.
You get three warm up games before going to A&M. I’m not saying @Cal is a cupcake, but a good Auburn team trounces them easily.
Then if we can get through A&M, we’re 4-0 with a home game against Georgia. Much easier to win a big game against Georgia at home then away.
Bye week after a difficult two game stretch. Able to rest up and prepare for @LSU.
Following LSU, we get Ole Miss and Miss St at home. Obviously they’re no longer patsy teams, but a good Auburn team should always be favored over the Mississippi schools at home.
Then a tune-up game against Vandy to give a little wiggle room to prepare for @Arkansas.
Then a cupcake before Alabama at home.
That’s as favorable of a schedule as we can ask for. Sucks we won’t be in position to take advantage of it.

Morbid?
What about any game this year have you seen other than fandom makes you think we beat LSU, Arky, Ole Miss?
Can we beat every team, sure. But we aren’t well coached. We can stop a simple split zone play. We can’t get to the other teams QB. We can’t protect our own QB. Our WRs can get open or separation. Our OL can get a push in the run game nor our DL get penetration in run stopping.
You had 2 cup cakes to work on things and had no clue how to manage what Manny Diaz was doing defensively which every fan and coach knows his M.O. blitz and pressure. Which means run right at it, quick pass game, bubble and tunnel screens, hot reads to backs and slot WRs, draws and screens to backs. Counter run plays. We did none of that.
Defensively the ran the split zone in the red zone and in what I would call short yardage plays 3rd and 2 or less. I’m not sure a line backer made a tackle in those situations the entire game. That is all about filling the gap, or should I say filling the proper gap. Owen did it poorly and when Steiner went in he did it poorly as well

I thought most said 8 was a ceiling, not a prediction.
