Regressed may not be right but lots of bad play designs, called at bad times. On 4th and foot you go straight ahead. We're not able to decipher the defense at the snap. In the Texas game, The whorns were walking up a linebacker and strong safety on one side and on the other a linebacker and another DB. Sometimes all 4 would blitz, sometimes they would drop 3 and blitz 1. Sometimes 2. The problem was Bama's o line could never get their assignments right. You have to make a split second decision and Bama would end up with 2 blocking the same guy and a free runner to the QB. On the failed 4th down Bama ended up with 1 guy trying to block 2 because the guard took an inside guy on a stretch play.

Yeah it's just a different kind of defense than what most Bama fans are seeing if I'm being truthful. Still better than 95% of them out there.
