Univ of MO needs to take a long hard look at where they stand in the SEC

Recruiting is still near the bottom and will get worse after this season, Sun Belt Drinkwitz has already lost 95% of the fanbase with the debacles of the game and press conference, and the BOT are still as incompetent as they’ve been. I’ve been a fan for 40+ years, but I don’t know how long I can tolerate this garbage. I wish I could get those decades back, but obviously I can’t. MU is not just an average football team, it’s an average athletic department. Always has been. They have no business thinking they can compete with the elite programs in the SEC in any of the relevant sports. If the administration was smart, they would select a conference comparable with their capabilities before Texas and OU join the league.

They can't do that. They would be committing financial suicide.

The Big 10. See if they would accept us as a package deal with Kansas. The Big 10 is a better "fit", games are closer, and we would compete easier against Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, etc.. More border school games are always a good thing IMO. The Big 10 isn't a poor man's SEC, it's basically 1B.

Big 10 ? We would get our doors blown off there too.

I was thinking more of the Mountain West, MVC, or the MAC.

They’re operating in the red right now, so no one will notice the difference.

McMillan, that's the pussy way out. Pitiful. Grow a pair.

The BIG PROB...non-power 5 level admins above the HC. Decades of poor leadership from these goobers. It starts with the dipsh*t governors appointing like dipsh*ts to the BOT. They hire these like goobers to run the school and sports. And here we are in the pits. It ALWAYS starts at the top.

Successful programs have SEC-level admins/leaders...fact. Can anyone in the state of Missouri hire competent leaders and football/basketball coaches???

Examples: The cheap bastards ran off Devine. Babs "screw-up a good thing" Uheling. Worthless Alden might have hired Pinkel but f**ked-up everything and I mean everything else. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once-in-a-while. Rhodes, Bowtie. I could go on-and-on with these overpaid worthless piece-of-crap leaders. They can all go to hell.

It was one bad loss.
I was in the stands for A&M beating us something like 70-0. Highlight of the game was the A&M band at halftime. Even our band was outclassed.
I do agree with the sentiment that our AD is terrible, in general. Wrestling, women's softball, and gymnastics are competitive.
The money is going somewhere, because our endowment is not growing as it should considering our revenue gains and our spending.

That’s another thing. We need leaders who align with midwestern values and sensibilities.

Big 10 ?

Yep.

Imagine these rivalry games:

1. vs Kansas as a package means thats back on, plus a game at Arrowhead is always awesome.
2. vs Nebraska (enough said tbh)
3. vs Illinois back in St. Louis.
4. vs Northwestern because its the "journalism bowl"
5. vs Iowa because they are the Arkansas of the north.

I feel that we have played our way out of B1G consideration the past couple of years. They just added USC and UCLA. If they went to 20, they wouldn't give us or ku a look. 24, maybe but that's years away.

The SEC is the place to be. Mizzou just needs better leadership across the board.

They are a bunch of pussies who make decisions based on fear. Especially the fear of being politically correct.

I don't get the endless fascination with the Big 10. They had their chance when the first wave of realignment hit. They passed. Move on. No one wants to travel to those crappy Big 10 stadiums in November that have the atmosphere of a funeral. The SEC embraced the university with open arms in 2012. This is now home sweet home. And there's no place else I'd rather be. Everything is better here than those other shitty conferences.

Here's what I've heard is that Sankey is the one that recommended Reed-Francois as the AD after making an appearance in the SEC Championship in 2013 and 2014 2015 was a disaster for the Missouri Athletic Department and the university as a whole the SEC realizes this they're trying to get Missouri back as quick as possible if you think Sankey is going to watch Missouri piss away SEC money your mistaken they know that this is another 2-year project but they wanted to be a year because Oklahoma and Texas is joining in 2023 they want Missouri back

What’s pathetic is doing the same thing over again and expecting different results. I and many others are tired of them taking the high ground. Nice guys, unfortunately, finish last. Just win, baby.

You guys are acting like a bunch of kansas cowards.

Seriously, sack the frick up. Our school has made more appearances in Atlanta than schools that have been in the league since its conception. Our team has made waves since joining and will continue to do so.

Suggesting that we changes conferences speaks volumes about you. When problems hit you in your everyday life, do you run? Do you take those problems head on and figure out a way?

We have to fix our fricking athletic department. Hopefully that has already started to happen with the new b-ball coach. Drink is digging his own grave and will be someone else's problem after this season.

With the transfer portal and NIL a bottom feeding team can be right back in the hunt the following season. There are programs in the top 25 that can show us this.

Bring on Texas and bring on OU.
