It's a team thing. Players are busting heads in contact drills while kickers are off to the side kicking. They start missing a couple and it can cause issues in the room. I think that's why they are on a short leash.

Damn,the kid is money and I recall a game a couple of years back when he nailed 2 or 3 onsides kicks in a row.

Kicking is statistical, you have to ride thru the misses that are onligatory to get back on streaks.
