No such thing as good parking there. The stadium seating is similar to Sanford. Bring earplugs or Sandstorm will make you crazy, probably will anyway.

It’s an absolute shithole. No parking. No nothing.

Wish I could say something positive about that smelty cock hole. I can’t.

Sounds like pizza and beer at home might be a better option.

Hot, maybe wet, and a complete ghetto and that is after the improvements.

Stadium is off campus and nothing to see but concrete for days.

When they were decent, they had electric environments, but I don’t think a noon game there is on any ones bucket list

They do have sort of a festive pre-game vibe. They set up kind of a fall festival setting outside the stadium. They used to have rail cars for tailgating, probably still do. Most folks are pretty welcoming. Getting out of the area is a nightmare after the game. It’ll be hotter than shite Sat. Do it once.

If you've never been before I'd recommend going. It's not one of the nicest places I've been but if you have the desire to go to knock it off your list I don't see why you shouldn't go just because of that. In the last 2-3 years SEC teams have majorly reduced the amoutn of lower level seats they're required to give visitors so you'll likely be in the upper deck.

For parking we always park in the strip of grass between George Rogerse Blvd and the railroad track. If you're looking at a satellite view on google maps, it's directly due north of the stadium, near intersection of GRB and Rosewood. All dawg people along that stretch so if you're there early enough to park there you'll make friends.

Stay out of the 600 level, you might as well be on the sun.
There is no real shade since you are in a fair ground.
So, if I were you, there are some buildings near by to tailgate, park there and figure out where the sun will be casting the most shadow as the day goes on.

Ideally, find someone with a cock-a-boose and go there.

No good places to park if you are a visitor. Columbia is the hottest place I have ever attended for a ball game.
The last time I was there I thought WB was a nice venue.
Hearing that rooster crow incessantly is enough to make you go mad.

If you have any kind of schmoozing ability you don't need to know anyone ahead of time. This is another thing that I'd suggest doing once to check off your list but IMO it's massively overrated. If it weren't right next to the stadium it'd hardly even be worth mentioning. It's literally just a train car that's been renovated with couches and TVs and stuff, and it costs about a million bucks to own one. In 2018 me Lew and CNB talked our way onto one and were there for like 5 minutes before realizing it was kinda lame.

I agree, but I was chiming in mainly on the lack of shade and amenities. The cock-a-boose has way more than just showing up and parking :)

Did they get rid of the fairgrounds? Parking was never an issue for me but I haven't been in about 15 years.

You can find parking, it just might be two miles from the stadium and in a sketchy area that's hotter than the surface of the sun. Think a fooball stadium off Fulton Industrial with a fairground and train cars.

I don't really agree here. As mentionmed the place we park is about a 0.3mile walk to the stadium. The other group we hang with parks on the opposite side of the stadium behind a condo building I think (it's near a gas station, sorry my memory is fuzzy) that's no more than a 0.5 mile walk.

Unless all of this has changed in the last 2 years, if you show up early enough and have $50 on you you can get a solid spot that's a close walk and surrounded by dawg people.

This!

I have not looked at the weather forecast for this day, but this was one of the hottest games I ever attended!

The Lord has, rightfully, forsaken Columbia, SC with Hellscape level heat.

2018 was probably one of the hottest games I've been to. It was brutal.

I don't think anything will ever or could ever top 02 bama and 03 clemson though, those were just off the charts.
