Good point. I forgot that no team has ever improved from a prior season in the history of college football.

I mean, look no further than Saban. It's common knowledge that his first crimson tide team in 2007 won 11 games...

A little perspective on the two games:

Your players did that after having to fight to get into FG range with 30 seconds left to take the winning lead.

Our team never trailed in the 4th quarter...of any game that entire season.

Congrats. Doesn’t change the fact that Texas was not very good that year but the win is nonetheless celebrated

However you justify being hypocritical is up to yall though

If a team beats us...let them do it, big deal! The only time I cringe is when I am watching a game where Texas isn't even playing and I see aggy in the stands throwing the horns down while they are getting curb stomped by another SEC team.

why the horns down triggers the frick out of Texas.

Schools have been doing the Horns Down for decades and it only recently became a point of contention.

Why?

Recently, while playing Texas Tech, a UT WR scored a TD and did the Guns Down in the end zone (instead of the Guns Up the ways Texas Tech does it) and the Texas player was penalized. We asked the Big 12 Conference, "Why is it okay for everyone to do Horns Down but we can't do the same with someone else's hand sign." The Big 12 conference then decided to penalize the Horns Down.

All of the Horns down crap started when Texas was playing Texas Tech

A Texas player did the Tech sign down and was penalized 15 yards, So Texas asked the office about Horns down

The rest is history and will always be blamed on Texas
Shhhhhhh. Don't you know you can't post facts when posting about Texas? You're ruining the narrative on tRant on a Monday morning.

Horns down is always acceptable. Get used to it in this conference.

I liked that they did it after the game when they couldn't get a penalty. What kind of pussy fanbase/team has made it to where opposing players can't do horns down...if they can do horns up during the game it should be allowed

nahh. We just watched LSU get soundly beat by FSU....FSU...for 3 quarters, and lose the game in spectacular fashion

Well, plus having a shitty team for 3 years now.

But you're the guy that said preseason last year that Myles Brennan and Max Johson were as good as Bryce Young.

Not sure, because our fanbase and administration had literally nothing to do with that being a rule. But you already know that...

Well one on its face is a taunt while the original usage is a school rallying cry (like the seminole chop, gator chomp, guns up for a number of teams, etc.).

Either way, it shouldn't be flagged regardless. And it hasn't. Since they announced this rule before the 2019 season, the only thing that has come of it is Texas getting dragged in the press despite not being involved. They have never once called it in a game since (you should know; LSU players did it in the endzone multiple times in 2019, and there were no flags / not a single Texas fan gave a shite)

I remember that, the Big 12 officiating crew came up with the excuse that it was "promoting gun violence."

you should probably just overlook that guy. LSU hasn't improved in 3 years, so he probably assumes no team can.

Why do horns use this excuse/rationalization/narrative? It proves the point. Texas will go to the conference commissioner to whine about a 15-yard penalty in a meaningless game, until the conference bans horns down.

You have to love LSU fans. One of their common replies in defense of their position is "we suck".

Lol it is the least shocking thing that an aggie does not have the simplest reading comprehension.

Texas was flagged for a handsign taunt used by Mike Davis in 2012 @ Texas Tech. Mack Brown asked why we were specifically flagged for that when the other team had been doing horns down throughout the same game. Then they made this rule 7 years later without a single iota of input from anybody on Texas's side.

Why horns down was singled out? I don't know. Maybe they needed the most recognizable hand sign to make a point (the rule is actually for all taunting, not just specifically for Texas; that was the easiest to point out). The rule also says Texas can be flagged for horns up if it's actually taunting.

You already knew all of this, but your obsession with Texas still drives you in this thread

They were ranked #9 and had a ton of injuries in the weeks after the LSU game and the losses started piling up.

I'm actually shocked that Alabama fans are trying to convince themselves that Texas is good this year.
