I live here and I see the logic. San Antonio has a better tourist town to spend a few days at and just as easy to see Central Texas. Foodies would like it too

i'm in Temple and it's either DFW, Love, or Austin. prefer Love because the flights are usually cheaper.
I've had some pretty big delays with the Austin Airport Security, but my biggest complaint is long term parking. It's either wait 10+ minutes for a shuttle, then 10+ minutes for the shuttle to make it's stop, or walk way the arse out of the way for the crosswalk through the parking garage.
Or do what i do and just hurdle the medians and cross 2 ways street and jump over another median to get in the parking lot.

Bergstrom was much better as an Air Force Base. My father was stationed there in the early 80s.

Seriously. When I'm in other airports, I'm constantly amazed at how shitty their food options are and how much of a cluster their security is. Austin is downright luxurious in comparison.

I agree with this overall. My least favorite part of Austin’s airport is the split between the north and south terminals. It takes 15-20 minutes to get from one to the other by car or shuttle, and there is very little in the way of reminding passengers flying out of the south terminal that this is where they need to be. South terminal is in desperate need of a makeover.
