Including garbage time:
WR Targets- 16
RB Targets- 14
TE Targets- 7 (this is the headline)
21 total rush attempts, minus the QB runs, including garbage time.
Kirby and Monken flipping the script on everybody.
Are they just trying to mind frick people or is this the new UGA offense?

Luke Warm Take-
This is the offense we wanted to run in 2021 with a healthy JT Daniels but once he sat down, they didn't trust Stetson as much to run this kind of offense. Stetson proved himself to the staff so it's back to Plan A.

The trips bunch formation was brutal for Oregon and we ran it a lot. I love what Monken and Stet are cooking up

i think the pass to run ratio stays pretty consistent throughout the year, just to shut up the narrative of our offense is boring.
I think the target distribution will fluctuate based on what Monken likes/sees as a weakness on the opposing defense. If USCe or whoever tries to take away the RB flat routes, the TE targets should go up.

One of the podcasts (I think dawgcentral) pointed out that Lanning tried to make us play left handed. Took away the interior running game and kept the defense back to protect double moves and go routes.
So we attacked the perimeter. And did some more. And waited for Lanning to adjust to stop it. And he didn't.
It bothers me that people look at a stat sheet like we opened up the passing game when about 5 to 7 of those were jet sweeps and another 5 to 7 were screens to the flat.
That is, essentially, an extension of the running game. But instead of a rush stat, both stet gets the passing yards and running back gets the receiving yards.

“We want people that want to come to play in this offense, and I think when you watch what they did today … you’re saying, ‘Man, I’d love to play in that offense, they throw the ball around,’ " Sick Naban said on Saturday
***Bettors take note. Sick is gonna run scores up all year for recruiting purposes . Exciting Times

If your offense is running right and has the weapons, the defense has to pick its poison. When they went man on us, we beat them down field as well. If they want to play 2 and 3 man games with us, our TEs and good blocking WRs will make them pay.

Look for a heavy run game against Samford. That'll give our opponents more to worry about.

This will be fun to watch going forward. I think what we witnessed last Saturday is only the beginning though.
A lot was made out of Georgia being the only team not to add transfers from the portal. They tried hard for the OKlahoma transfer but he chose fn South Carolina. Then there’s lthe selfish scumbag Burton that transferred to our #1 enemy. Then there’s not getting the Manning dork. And I’m sure there’s much much more out there in the recruiting trail being said negatively about last years offense we dont know about
Monken also tipped his hand when he was asked how much he’ll use his stacked TE room this year. He said if he uses them too much every WR will hit the transfer portal.
I believe we have a new offensivive philosophy. This is Kirby adapting and evolving just like his mentor did. Driven by the necessity of the thing that Kirby is best at: Recruiting.
Enjoy the show.

So our offense is different this year how?
Posted on 9/9/22 at 5:48 pm to deeprig9
I didn’t get to really watch the game until yesterday. That offense was incredible and played on another level-scary pro level good. I don’t know how good Oregon really is but overall this offense looks better than last year. They are going to be very hard for anyone to stop and frankly I don’t see anyone doing it.
Special teams looked solid, too.
So any potential weaknesses at all? I know that evidently a lot was lost on defense but I am assuming they were able to reload. There were some standout defensive plays too and they made the stops when needed. I know it is early but this team seems better than last year’s team and we know what happened last year.

Stetson Bennett hates Australians.
Mike Bobo cheats at golf.
And we haven't replaced the quality play by play calls from Larry, yet.

Ladd Mahonky Donk was an afterthought. When the nation thinks ClemPson’s Shipley is the next McCaffery, Mahonky Donk will set records quietly.

I remember reading about McConkey a few years ago because I recognized the name (kind of an unusual name) and wondered if he was related to the receiver who I watched play pro football (he’s about my age) who is named Phil, but not his dad. So he’s really good and turned in an outstanding performance but then the receiving corp as a whole is just stacked. Good to have lots of weapons.

Yea it is. I want to see a 5 TE set used just once. That’ll give them something else to think about?
