I don’t think a lot of you know how rare, fortuitous and lucky a NC is. That windfall from heaven in 2019, and Saban’s run of success seems to make people believe anyone can do it anytime.

I suggest, look at the years and what it took for Georgia to finally get over the hump. Look at Ohio State recruiting, playing in a gimme league, and can’t come close to Saban.

For Kelly to do a NC in three years, he will have to …

(1) overcome every SECw team including Bama;

(2) beat Georgia-SECe;

(3) then win a game against one of top OOC teams in the country;

(4) and then beat Bama again in the NC game.

And that after starting with the worst, last place, totally dysfunctional program in the SEC.

Perhaps talking about what constitutes a “successful program” should include a knowledgeable, realistic view of what is required to win a NC.

Uh, you do realize that the idiots, Les Miles AND Ed O, won NC’s at LSU while curb stomping your precious Bama in the process right?? You Gumps are gonna crash hard when Saban retires. The entirety of the SEC is going to love it.
