If we weren't so fricking good Idk if I'd really care anymore

How do you watch modern cfb knowing your team has no shot at the playoffs? Id think it would be boring and frustrating

Imagine your entire life, and all your social relationships revolving around the football team of a school that you never went to. Your fanhood of this team is most significant social marker. Your knowledge of the sport is minimal for someone who makes a team their entire personality, and subconsciously the only reason you even care so deeply is bc being a Bama fan, Christian, and republican are the only way you know how to fit in and you have major daddy issues so youll do anything not to disappoint him even tho he’s actually a drunk redneck POS. Since you’ve so deeply convinced yourself that Bama football is important in your small, small world that is your backwards rural hometown, when things don’t go Bama’s/ your way you let it affect your emotions and you take it out on your poor helpless dog. You are also single and an incel bc you are an only child

Not much different than being a fan of any other SEC team. Except our teams win a lot. The expectation’s are totally unrealistic but Bama more times than not is always playing for the National championship late into the seasons. And whenever our team loses we take a lot more shite than what is warranted The winning makes it so worth it though. Everybody loves a winner but everyone hates Alabama. And we don’t really give a shite.

There was a game on Xbox called ncaa football.

You could start a dynasty and it was fun getting going and then you got to a point where you won the championship every single year. Eventually you got tired of it and moved on to something else.

I know when Saban is gone there will be a recession of Alabama football. I just hope it’s not more then about ten years and it will be a lot of fun again getting back to the top.

Genuinely honest question - since Saban’s run, they go in to pretty much every season with an expectation of a natty, and if you don’t get it it’s a total failure. There is basically no room for pleasant surprises in your team. To me it almost makes the seasons less fun.
Ever been to the busiest bar in town and taken home and slept with the 2nd best looking woman in the place? (probably not )
Think about it.

False assumption. Its a disappointment if you have a team in position to win the national title and they dont. Its not a total failure. Last year we were SEC champs. It was a great season.

I can assure you its a hell of a lot of fun.

It pains me to say it, but I honestly envy LSU fans. They’ve had a sustained level of success over the past 20 years yet not so much that the success isn’t truly appreciated.

I appreciate winning
