being critical of the pass game was warranted but I don’t think we should’ve been criticizing kj. The problem wasn’t kj as much as it was Kendall and Sam not calling pass plays

It seemed liked some games we flat out refused to throw the football unless it was 3rd and long and we were determined to try and run the ball down everyone’s throat

There was criticism for both he and Briles. Kendall wasn't the one missing the throws and/or constantly putting his receivers in terrible positions. This has to be some kind of selective memory to have just completely forgotten the ineptitude of our intermediate passing game. The plays were called plenty. He just didn't hit them or would lower his eyes and run after one read. I'm not even sure how this is a point of contention. All you have to do is go rewatch the games.

Regardless, I think we can all agree things are looking better in that regard.

We didn't run any more pass plays than normal this week. His 24 attempts is about right at average for the season. The only outlier is his 40 attempts against BYU. Almost every other game falls within 22-26 attempts.

Both KJ and the WRs seemed to be off and let each other down for two weeks in a row with A&M and Bama. KJ would tuck and run to quick or the ball would sail on him, but when he got it right the WRs dropped the passes.

They have been better the past two weeks.
