I honestly thought they'd already gone away. Between COVID and muh racist tests I was for sure they were already done away with. Guess not yet.

I honesty did too, or at least thought they had been scheduled to be phased out for athletes (as a requirement for NCAA eligibility), for the reasons you mentioned.

I believe they are gone in most west coast schools. I don’t think most SEC will make it another 5 years. It’s ridiculous. I met someone this year at UGA who got a 14 on the ACT.

I was in a meeting a few weeks ago and it was discussed how the importance of the act/sat is diminishing and how gpa is even more important now. So much, that some kids aren’t taking the highest level classes in case they may make a B and bring it down.
As someone who was always a good/lucky test taker I’m glad I am old enough it doesn’t matter to me.
