The past five years is better than hiring Schiano?

1) We were coming off Butch Jones. We didn't need another buzzcut northerner douchebag coming in calling the shots when one had just led us to nationwide embarrassment time and time again. Fan support would have been at an all time low before Greg ever started. Would have been DOA had he come here.

1b) He was also involved in a pedo scandal. Regardless of the level of his involvement, being associated with one of those is not a good look. And opposing fanbases would have absolutely taken that and ran.

2) Since returning to Rutgers, Greg has gone 3-6 and 5-8. (Edited)

I love how this board likes to pretend ole Greg is somehow a big get despite the fact that he has been available during some pretty big job openings and yet hasn't been linked to any of them.

These people seriously think that 2017 is what Tennessee football is, and that 2016 is the best we can aspire to. If they really think Greg Schiano is a good hire for anyone other than Rutgers, they're probably too stupid to waste breath on, but I applaud you for trying anyway.

You think this evidence of improvement proves your point?

He's only coached there 2 years, but an 8-14 record with zero wins over FBS teams with a winning record and one of those 8 wins being over FCS Delaware isn't exactly great either.

Did you know Rutgers isn't anywhere near as a football program? Greg is going to try to make it happen though and it will take time. If he was @ Tennessee, he would have turned it around a lot quicker than what you have now. He is a lot better than what you thin. You also got to factor the recruiting disadvantage since Rutgers isn't ready yet to compete with the big boys. Give him time to get the facilities and better recruits. Tennessee is a much easier job to turn it around than Rutgers by a mile.

Champions of Life thing was pretty cringe but outside of that how was he any more embarrassing than Dooley or Kiffin bailing after one 7-6 year? At least he won 9 games for yall twice. Better than anyone this side of Fat Phil has done for you guys.
