Who were some of the bands at Denaro’s?
I can’t recall. I graduated in 1986.
21 drinking age came about my last year I think.
There was a bus that you could ride to the Supper Club and back.
Krystal, Hartz Chicken, Wendy’s were on Magnolia. Not sure I ever had a Krystal burger sober.

In the summer of ‘81, my band played at Denaros back when it was still called Mother’s. We also played The Casino on a semi-regular basis.
I went out with Marcia Darnell a couple of times in ‘81-‘82, before she got married and went into the restaurant business.

In addition to the list below I saw Bob Welch, Mick Fleetwood, Heart (talked to Ann Wilson for about 30 minutes the afternoon of their show). I only saw some below from 72 to 74 and 77 to 80.

The 90s/early 2000s music scene in Auburn was pretty eclectic. Dixie Slam Mob, Iratowns, Grassoline, Larry Kelly 5, Taylor Hicks Band, Free Advice, Bol o Sol, Harmonium, Ophelia and the Blue Ticks and Highly Kind are some of the groups not mentioned yet.

There was some dude who played steel/slide guitar in Chris Posey band and Adam Hood band like 2006-2012. went to a lot of shows at Fat Daddys, Pockets, and the Duck back then. Weird dynamic for Auburn music scene to have that in there.

fricking A. Reinsert "that is a name I have not heard in a long time" Star Wars gif. I never made it to the Casino as I was too young, but my dad often went on Friday evenings with colleagues and students to play pool. More often than not, he brought home pre-1964 silver quarters he sought out on purpose. He had a knack for paying attention, knowing shite, and doing lots of cool stuff that I only realized and was able to appreciate much later in life, especially after he passed in'97. Thanks for the memory.
