Them being a private school, they don't have to adhere to title 9 like all the rest of the SEC does. I suspect their entire baseball roster is on scholly. I suspect NIL will put a huge dent in that totem pole though.

i don't have the energy to put in the effort here, but just imagine in place of this text, I've put that popular Billy Madison gif of the debate moderator telling Billy in a very nice way that his response was incorrect.

When you refer to the 4 SEC teams with no help, it's pretty significant!

Well the school being discussed in the OP and LSU have that same advantage (along with 8 other schools in the conference), so why do you think it's out of bounds here? I'd also question how much you think these programs actually pay towards tuition because I can assure you LSU has to use scholarship money, and plenty of it, on in-state kids. Those programs only provide around 4 grand towards tuition. The cost of attendance is significantly more than that.

It's more amusing than "out of bounds" when one advantaged team's fan plays the advantage card to another even more advantaged team's fan, all the while the fans of teams with NO advantage look on! ( did I mention advantaged?)
PS- If I'm you, I'd be bringing up the fact about now that the last two Natty winners(Ole Miss & State) are also part of the "disadvantaged" group.

Doesn't sound like it's much of advantage then does it?

It’s different at vandy since they are a private school. Every player on their roster is on a full ride of some type. The other schools can’t do that.

Of course you have proof of this right?

It's tiring having to argue BOTH sides in a thread!

It's been proven that Dansby freaking Swanson didn't even have a full scholarship. But it makes a lot of people on this board feel warm and fuzzy inside thinking that Vandy has some kind of huge scholarship advantage over everybody else and that's the only reason we've been successful.

Not saying we don't have an unfair advantage. His name is Tim Corbin.

Vandy’s advantage is it’s a good school.

But using 11.7 for freshman then transitioning them to need based after a year off their parents books definitely negates the disadvantage of 60K tuition.

A rich dude from Atlanta suburbs? I think that is the whole point here buddy.

Vandy didn't win a regional until 2004. They enacted the new project in 2008 and suddenly went to 5 college world series in a decade and won 2.

Guess that is all down to Tim Corbin and his "genius".

Swanson took out student loans to come to Vanderbilt, supplementing his athletic scholarship and financial aid to pay for the private school's pricey tuition rather than choosing a less-expensive option at a state university.

Are you retarded? Peabody is one of the top schools of education in the country. This would be like saying "they accept College of Arts and Sciences credits."

What's the tuition at Arky for rich dudes from the suburbs? Bet it's not $58,000/year.

I'm sure that in-state tuition isn't an advantage either.

"Corbin was very generous" He lived in a luxury high rise in Nashville in the Gulch. Dude wasn't hurting one bit.

From 2015-2021, Vandy had the number 1 class 5 times and the number 2 class the other time.

Ya'll are ridiculous.

Look at the chart from the Vandy website. If your household earns less than $120k+/year, you're getting most of your tuition covered by Opportunity Vanderbilt when you take into consideration supplementing that aid with a partial athletic scholarship

I don't know why so many people try to act like it's a conspiracy that Vandy has a pretty nice advantage getting kids to campus. No one is saying Vandy is doing something illegal.

eh, I don't think they are. They have just exploited a permissible loophole to combat title IX bullshite that hurts baseball players, which is what I would want my team to do in the same situation.
