With NIL and UT coming on in their state, they strangle-hold and scholarship advantage they had is trending down for them

It's ok no one expects a Bama fan to comprehend how Vandy has a private university has an advantage in baseball. I guess it should be "had" now.

Yes. Why do you think an LSU fan shouldn't be able to discuss this? You realize Vandy has a state lottery scholarship program they can use for in-state students (like LSU has with TOPS) in addition to Opportunity Vanderbilt financial aid that is available to all students, not just in-state students, right?
I'm guessing this is you being butthurt about Alabama not having a state lottery when most schools in the SEC, including Vandy, do.

They have an insane recruiting class, assuming they make it past the draft. Wouldn't surprise me if they are telling some kids to pound sand

16 transfers not even inclusive of the 7-8 current roster guys they will lose to natural attrition and the draft, they'll have work to do. They have 19 commits right now and won't sign all of them obviously, so they'll need to sign quite a few kids from the portal to fill out their roster. They're not telling 16 players on their roster to pound sand

of the 16 in the portal, 14 were never going to get significant PT at Vandy, one was our starting SS who was the worst bat in the lineup, and the other was a pitcher with lots of talent who simply didn't like attending class.

When you can use ALL of your scholarship money on out-of-state recruits, I'd say there's an advantage!...only an idiot wouldn't (No offense!)
PS-I'm aware of Vandy's advantage, including them accepting Peabody college credits.

#1 or #2 post-draft. Either is fine with me but that’s why most are transferring. They weren’t getting playing time before and certainly won’t now.

It's an advantage almost the entire SEC has. How much of an advantage do you think it is when all but a few program have the same advantage?

Them being a private school, they don't have to adhere to title 9 like all the rest of the SEC does. I suspect their entire baseball roster is on scholly. I suspect NIL will put a huge dent in that totem pole though.

Was really hoping the Vandyboyz thing ran its course.
