Georgia-Auburn
Alabama-Tennessee
Texas-Oklahoma
Ole Miss-LSU

4 of the most historic interstate rivalries in college football, gone from being yearly contests.

I don't get it.

I also don't understand how it makes sense from a tv perspective. There are a lot of long-standing games between teams with huge fan bases. Replacing Tennessee with (no offense) Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, etc. is just dumb. No one is going to watch those game and that's effectively what they'd be doing

Thats what happens when things change.

I bet a lot on here dont realize that UF and Auburn played each other pretty much every single season from the 1920s until 2002. And since 2002 they have only played 4 times.

My point being that while it sucks and things change the SEC has made changes like this before. And after a decade or two majority of people forget and move on from it.

At least the 1/7 plan gets everyone in every other year.

The bigger issue with that plan is who is going to have who on each given year. And do the whole 7 swap each year?

Like for example will OM schedule look like

2025
MSU
Bama
LSU
Arky
A&M
Texas
OU
Auburn

then 2026 be
MSU
Tenn
UK
Florida
USCe
Mizzo
Vandy
UG

And it just swap between those every Odd/Even year? If so some years for certain teams they may have a better chance of making SEC champ game just because of how schedule lines up.

RRS isn't going anywhere.
The other teams can play each other annually OOC.

Not only that George but the LSU bama game has been a huge national rating aka money maker for the SEC so we are ditching that too
