A nearly 20 year difference in recency totally makes them the same.

The 39ers and 98ers are equally annoying.

Then why haven't y'all won any CWS titles? "Oh we beat LSU 6 times the last time we played them the last two years," well we have 6 titles and you have 0. Tennessee as a program is laughable.

A decent year followed by what is looking to be their best year yet (for them), finally winning an SEC title (good for them) but if you think you are building something, look at Vandy. Top of the world one minute and down the next. Maybe this year you'll get further than a BBQ sandwich in Nebraska.

Dan Mullen has won twice as many BCS/NY6 bowls as the Vols have.

And if it wasn't for the Clint Stoerner
fluke fumble we'd be talking 1951 instead of '98

Billy Ratliff fired off the ball and knocked Brandon bulsworth backwards into the quarterback who then fell over. It wasn’t a fluke.

And if it wasn’t for the 4 team playoff format we’d still be saying 1980. No telling how many more nattys Tennessee woulda gotten a crack at had we had the benefit of being given another chance after either losing the SEC Title game or finishing 2nd in the SEC/Sec East.

And then after that fumble, we had just one timeout with less than 90 seconds left in the game. We elected to line up and cram the rock down the A gap every damn play until we crossed the line. True old school kick arse football. Was the finest moment in the history of a Tennessee offensive line. Total domination on that last drive
