Gilbert bat flips for charity. An organization donates a certain amount of money to a children’s hospital every time he flips his bat. Drew Gilbert set this up because he himself lived in a children’s hospital for two years as a child.

Meekly allowing it would not have been an option. If nothing else infield practice would have sent a ball in their dugout with an “oops”.
