The biggest observance of this whole situation with Saban and Fisher is this. All these schools complaining of cheating. LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Florida, Georgia and every other SEC school HAS cheated under the table for YEARS. EVERY power 5 school has cheated under the table. Car dealerships, direct money pay to parents, Catholic hospitals, etc. Now that, like it or not because your school is getting passed up, it’s LEGAL to do with NIL and certain schools can do a better job of it with more involved alumni, collectives, sponsorships, you all freak out because it’s not YOUR school. You can whine, complain, do whatever but most of you on here supported the actual involvement of “paying” players before NIL started but now that your school is passed up it’s cheating and needs to be cut. Hypocrisy at its finest.

All those things you mentioned? Yes, as you said, every school did it.
It's also within the means of those boosters, and you have to keep it quiet - no "million dollar deals".
NIL turns it from a "he kid, here's a couple hundred, just tell 'em you work for me but go have fun" to "hey kid, go to this school and I'll give you a $2 million NIL deal."
Even little schools with have boosters than keep up with the first type.
Don't pretend you want parity in college football and then claim NIL is the path that will get us there.

The problem is this simply is not true. A&M fans can keep repeating it over and over, but the fact of the matter is you are wrong.
All the other cheating you mention is also against the rules. If it happens and they are caught, they will face penalties just like A&M is now.

Well said. Parity is a myth.
The balance of power may shift periodically or you may get some "new money" occasionally, but if you crown a champion you have to step over the corpses of the vanquished.
NIL is new money and as has always happened with new money, they spend it on gawdy, retarded shite. Fortunately, they are usually bankrupt inside of 5 years... so the foam finger that's visible from space will be gone soon.

It is legal to pay current college players, not to use as a recruiting tool to get high school kids to attend a particular university.

#2 UNC for the worst academic fraud in college history but the NCAA lets it slide less all Smith's banners were vacated
#3 Ohio State, for what they say about SEC cheating, it pales to the stuff Ohio State has gotten away with over a century or more
#4 Duke, a street agent admits in court he paid Duke players but not 1 banner came down under Rat Face
#4 Southern Cal, when you have to cheat at Women's Soccer and such you have clearly lost institutional control
If Alabama cheated near as bad as any of these the NCAA would have salted the earth in Tuscaloosa after handing out a 100 year Death Penalty.
