I agree too. However they are paying Brock as a signed player and not a recruit. Big difference
Why would anyone NIL “recruits” when they just wait a few months and NIL in accordance with the rules once they’re enrolled?

“7 figures” is reasonable compensation for that?
It was for companies that knew he was going to be Bama's starting QB and could see he was a potential Heisman winner

I dont know if UGA is giving players NIL deals to get them to sign ( I am sure they and every other school is). But UGA does a good job of actually putting their players in ADS so you see that it actually using the NIL and not just pay to play.

They tell the recruits how much money he is going to get. Don’t have to pay until the paper is signed. That should lure the greedier ones

So we can only give high dollar NIL deals to people who are likely to eventually (or currently) start and have been anointed in limited garbage time as heisman candidates?
Are these the commonly agreed to SECR NIL rules we are going with?

It is a virtual certainty that every single 4* and 5* in the country was advised that schools have NIL programs that will take care of its players.

Jeeze man, there's a difference between players and recruits. Just stop.

You’re suggesting that “A&M” illegally signed up and transferred money for NIL deals to RECRUITS when they could’ve just waited a few months and done so legally?

They promised money for the player to sign. The actual payout could come later. Better pay these deals. Players will talk if they don’t get what they were promised.

I'm not saying anybody did anything "illegal". I'm saying NIL should be available for players on the team and should not be used to bid for high school kids. I have no idea if it's illegal, I just think it's wrong. But again, if that's going to be the accepted system, Saban will definitely do it too.

I enjoyed the entertainment from all of this especially now that it has drawn out all the auburn fans from hiding.
A bitter bunch to say the least bit so entertaining. Keep up the good work.

Maybe. People say a lot of things. Good luck proving it.
What you’re suggesting isn’t so far from telling every recruit in the country “our QB who has never started a game has a 7-figure deal”.

It is absolutely how it was intended, but because the NCAA is a feckless organization they put up literally no safeguards to prevent against it.

As soon as an NIL offer is extended as a condition of enrolling at a school, a violation of state law has occurred.
Perhaps you're aware that NIL was intended for student athletes at universities, not for high school (or middle school) students to entice them to play for a university.

It is your belief that executable NIL deals were extended to recruits?

Until then, each state can set their own NIL laws. The only thing the NCAA can dictate is that NIL offers do not violate pay-for-play policies and that the student athletes don't receive financial incentives to sign with or remain at a program.
It's that last part that is a problem right now, as it seems some schools are using NIL as a recruiting tool when NIL is supposed to apply to NCAA-governed student athletes (those already enrolled at universities).

I don't think it was Jimbo's recruiting prowess alone that landed a historic recruiting class.
