...the reason for Miles' success the last few years?

Honest question!

we run the same scheme as Pelini had, so I would say no. For what its worth I was never a huge fan of Pelini.

I know. Miles is an idiot and Saban is the greatest. See in BR. F off. Remember the Arky game. How about giving up 34 to your crappy team last year.

Despite the loss, I'd take Miles over Saban any day of the fricking week.

Scoop, we all know good and well Saban and his recruits were responsible for our succes the last few years. As a Bama fan of all people you should know this.

Miles is a hell of a better person than Saban.

Saban is a better coach than Miles.

I'm not flamming. Miles has done a great job recruiting which is my point. LSI has the talent to play much better than last night. That was not just a loss, that blew my mind.

We are still running essentially the same defensive system as Pelini. But now we don't have him to make all the key adjustments, also I'll say that are secondary is still pretty young and learning. Sure he made some mistakes last season but what coach never makes a mistakes. The thing is people capitalize on his because of what happened after his.

He wasn't responsible for the success of Miles but I would say he was successful in himself as a DC.

No. If anything, I would say Gary Crowton was the key last year. In 2006 though, I though Pelini did a really nice job. Our defense just seemed more agressive that year for whatever reason.

Miles in not as great a X and O's coach as Saban, but he's better than most give him credit for though. I think we've got 2 DC's this year getting their feet wet and we're feeling the effects. Coupled with the loss of some key defensive starters, coupled with the fact we have a QB getting his feet wet.

Here's my thing though- if we finish 9-3, I think Miles will have done a heck of a coaching job. Yes, we have talent. But they are inexperienced and young. So playing in as tough of a league as we do, it can be hard.

And as much as JPW gets shite from Bama fans, I honestly think he is the reason Bama is as good as they are this year. Reminds me a lot of Flynn last year. May not win the game, but probably will not hurt you as a senior.

Honestly, could you imagine what you guys would be this year starting say Star Jackson or Mccelroy (spelling?). Because that's pretty much the position LSU is in. Granted we have more depth, but the experience factor in coaching and players are hurting us this year.

yep, a Senior QB >>>> redshirt freshman or sophomore any day.

I honestly would like to see a Saban defense against the Florida offense.

I think Bama would hang with them for a while, but get worn down eventually.

I mean this as no disrespect to Bama, b/c I think they will win the West, but UF is the best team in the SEC. The more and more I think about it, the more and more the Ole Miss game was an anomaly.

I think UF would end up beating Bama by 10-14 points.

No, our defense since the Va. Tech game LAST YEAR has been statistically ranked 93rd in the country. So, no, it's not because of him.

No way. I would not say that he was a bad DC, but he was not one of the top DC's in our conference, much less the country. We gave up a ton of points last year after 4th game of the year. It wasn't all injury related.

Saban lost 37-0 to Francis in 2002 and 37-6 to AU that same year. Plus, he never beat Spurrier at UF. So don't crown him the king of all defenses. I saw his MSU team get 50 hung on them in Hawaii too.
