Pretty rational starting point. This is per a Cleveland source. Full contract isn’t out yet.

I’m mildly intrigued by whether his wife will keep her Ohio State job or not.

Hopefully we get assistant names coming in quickly.

For a guy who was making $500K per year in 2021, this is a pretty large gamble ($2.1 million annual raise) ...

But good for him. Wish him the best.

I'll start watching again when they finish top 3 in the SEC and go further than the first round in the NCAA.

I read somewhere that Gates' brother (an arse't at Nebraska) is coming.

Reasonable on the face of it. Like to know how much he'll get for assistants.

As long as he doesn't have a clause in there that vests additional years for middling performance. In theory, Cuonzo's contract could have continued ad infinitum if he had either kept making the tournament, or (I think) been over .500.
Hope there are no idiotic clauses like that.

Right, as long as it’s not like Cuonzo’s deal it almost doesn’t matter what the money is. I’m sure after 3 years getting out of it will be palatable.

I’m hoping they gave him a bigger assistant pool and he’s able to attract some good guys. Does seem to have strong connections in that regard but we have to pay.

We're not going to tell you when that happens. Hope they're in the Final Four before you figure it out.

I read that he is not coming. I would if I were him. Not sure how long the Mayor has left at Lincoln.

I'll follow them. Just won't waste 2 hours watching shite basketball until they show some life.

Figure I'll have 2 years for another hobby before Gates does anything special. Hope I'm wrong.
