Looking forward to their next coach, that's for sure.

They should let Kirby do it. Just jumping around the sidelines and all.

UG should hire Cuonzo Martin; he's a taller midget than Crean

No he's not, the AJC just decided to write about it today.

He's not fired until our season is over, which it currently isn't. But we've known for like 6 momnths he was gone after the season. Just had to wait bc of the buyout.

Didn't know exactly how good he'd be but I would have never guessed the Crean era at UGA would be a flaming disaster. Honestly, might not have been if not for the post-COVID transfer portal. That put a giant nail in his coffin.

Same. It seems like a lot if UGA media and former players are throwing their weight behind Jonas Hayes, but it doesn't seem like a great hire. He has no head coaching experience.

He may know the southeast region (and, Georgia specifically) for recruiting, but that does not mean that he will be able to recruit at the level that we need to.

It's far too big of a risk, he's just as likely to come in and finish last in the SEC for the next four years as he is to come in and get us to the NCAA Tournament. There's no way to know how he will do.

If he had not already been at UGA, he would not even be on our radar.

Yeah it's a head scratcher. It was a home run hire on paper and looked to be just what we needed, no clue why it turned out so awful. The creation of the transfer portal really sealed the deal for him as he simply could not manage the portal to save his life.

people will always compare him and fox for natual reasons but I can assure you if the portal existed under fox his tenure would look mighty similar. It's kinda tough to keep a prgoram going when you already suck to begin with but then your entire roster can just leave if they want to with no penalty.

It won't be jonas unless:

1) we literally DGAF about the program
2) Brooks is a gutless coward that cares more about being in good graces with older folks than he does abotu winning

neither seem likely

Any word on replacement. This is very important hire for future of Dawg basketball. Wrong hire and it could set Dawgs back for years . Hard part over getting rid of Old coaches.

Was his contract over or was there a payout. Also how much did he make per year.

Is that actually a possibility? That would be a horrible hire. No way UGA gets behind that.

Who is that guy? Never heard of him. Is he a Georgia legend or something?

Yeah that's what the media here is pushing.

I hope not. Brooks will lose me if he goes that way.
