Kentucky - how do you feel about being a likely 2 seed?

According to the latest data, the SEC won’t have two one seed teams, which pretty much leaves you guys out, unless South Carolina pulls off a miracle and beats Auburn on Saturday.

The difference between a 1 and 2 isn’t that big of a deal, imo. Matchups are far more important.

You are forgetting about conf. Tourneys. A lot can change

I think if we win out, specifically beating Auburn in the title game, the one seed is still in play. But regardless, a two seed is fine. Hopefully in Kansas or Baylors region. Wouldn’t imagine them putting us with Auburn or out west with Gonzaga

Typically, I don’t think the tournament title game has much impact on seeding, but with the two teams so close, it could tip the scales.

It has been proven, I use to like having it on Sunday but I think the Championship game should be moved to Saturday.

We’ve likely been a 2 seed for awhile now. With an outside shot at a 1.

If its between Auburn and Kentucky for a one seed, then the championship will matter. Anything else and they probably won’t factor the championship game very much if at all

Whatever the seed you have to beat who is set before you to advance. We were an 8 seed in 2014 and didn't lose until the Championship game. Virginia was a 1 seed and lost to UMBC a 16 seed.
Still a lot of things can happen between now and selection sunday. We may lose to Florida and our first round sec game. Who knows?

One seed and two seed are not that much different. What matters is the second round match ups and how hot/cold the teams in that game are.

#1 vs #2 is pretty meaningless overall.

It’s a high seed like 1 and 2, the committee typically draws up respective scenarios for that. Anything outside of that (unless you’re trying to win a bid) isn’t going to get much movement from the NCAA.
It’s why Cal has long advocated for the championship be moved to Saturday. Maybe if it starts effecting more teams, that’ll get some more pull.

All I know is, I'm sure we will be in a region with Duke. That's really not optional.

The bracket will have already been made but in this scenario, it would just be a straight switch of Auburn and Kentucky, so there wouldn't be a domino effect that would make them adjust the whole bracket

Yeah, I only see it being in play is if the 2 teams are so close, like the 4th and 5th seeded teams that they can just be flip flopped with winner taking the higher seed.

Kentucky winning out would likely get them a 1 seed...especially if they beat Auburn or Auburn exits on Friday.
What happens to the other teams will also have ripple effects.

The difference between a 1 and 2 is largely bragging rights.
