Well that solves it Dylan has made up his mind just wrap it up then. No reason to look into the matter any longer

I have made up my mind not to dismiss or judge someone based on wild rumors and gossip. If there is evidence there was wrongdoing, then that changes things, but I’m not holding my breath.

Because he’d be fired by now

You have no clue what is substantiated and what isn’t. The facts will eventually become public.

Let Auburn build their case against Harsin. Being a shite recruiter and an a-hole to his own players and coaches already justifies firing him w/o cause. Now we are swinging for the fence.

We have a much larger witness base that says he isn’t an a-hole to his players, than we do saying the contrary. You keep saying that though, eventually you’ll actually believe it.

18th ranked recruiting class with 6 months to recruit isn’t a bad haul. 2023 is the year that’s entirely on him.

Right. It sounds like the people that want him gone want him gone because of a year of recruiting and because he hurt some feelings. They’re just hoping the report comes out with something damning to justify their view.

Fun fact, in years 2013 and 2014 we were ranked higher in recruiting rankings, with a lower average score.

What I believe doesn’t matter. What Mason and Corn and Lee and the rest of the guys that cannot be strong armed tell ADAG is what matters.

Derrick Mason’s contract is out. He took a pay cut to get away from Harsin.

That tells me all I need to know.

Did they spell his name that way on the contract?

And by the way, defense underperformed this year and most people on this board wanted Mason gone. Firing Williams was the best thing to happen to the receivers this year. All that tells me is that Harsin expects performance, and isn’t afraid to make changes to build his program.

Mason’s unit was the most dependable unit on the team. Overall improvement from last year. Recruiting was significantly better on his side of the ball than Harsin’s as well.

If you really thought he needed to be fired please tell me what the hell Hars did to deserve a second year.

Well you said you had all you needed to know, apparently you don’t if you can’t spell the guys name right.

If Hars isn’t fired and still comes out and coaches like he wants to turn this around that will say a lot about this man. If I was him I’d just say frick it collect my buyout and get a job in the PAC. I can’t imagine how it has to feel to head a rebuild while the admin around you is doing everything they can do to make it harder on you.

We do not make institutional decisions based on social media posts or media headlines"

It seems mighty convenient that this whole "affair" rumor was released on social media about 24 hours before Auburn announced they were investigating. I'm sorry but I do not believe it was coincidental nor do I believe it had nothing to do with the origin of the investigation. It might be true they won't make a final decision based on rumor, but the rumor definitely played a major part as to why we're in this position in the first place.

Another question I have is why announce an investigation at all? Can't the AD/BoT look into allegations quietly? Why go to the press? I can see only two reasons they would do so:

1) The PTB are trying to trash Harsin and make his job so difficult he says "frick all this, I'm out."
2) The PTB are innocent, but felt they had to go public because of the social media shitstorm was out of control.

Either way, they are lying when they say "social media has nothing to do with it." It might be true that their final decision won't be based on social media rumor, but I can guarantee you that these rumors are at least part of the reason the investigation began in the first place.

If Harsin went 10-2 and had a top 5 class, none of this would be a thing. There would be no investigation. You know it and I know it. Sorry, but this smacks of the PTB trying to dig something up to get rid of him. It's the Kansas Jayhawks situation all over again.
