I think it’s universally understood that Niblett is a bit of a douche. Any high school coach that seizes the opportunity to take his shirt off at a pep rally automatically gains 50 douche points.

Niblett is legitimately a great guy. I’ve known him my entire life. He is a true Christian man not just a fake faith pusher he lives his life the way a Christian should. And he’s a good coach.

And when I mean I’ve known him my entire life I mean like my entire life used to spend the night over at each other’s houses when we were kids. Played on the same travel team in the summer as teenagers.

Every successful coach has a little bit of cocky in them because it’s hard to cut off that competitive spirit. So it comes across that way or arrogant.

I haven’t heard about the shirt thing so I will ask him why? Was this at Gainesville or Hoover?

Well I can only speak of my personal experience with him, but when he was at Oneonta he was absolutely incredible. The players loved him. The students loved him. The fans loved him. You couldn’t find a soul who had a single negative thing to say about him.

So maybe after he left Oneonta he turned into something different but everything I’ve seen tells me he is the same person everyone loved for winning the first championship at my high school since the 70s. We had gotten close a few times, but never could get past that championship game during the 80s and 90s.
