Is Bruce Pearl the greatest basketball coach of all time?

One of two college coaches ever to take 2 programs to number 1. The Tennessee job was a little easier. What he has done at Auburn is nothing short of a miracle. Zero basketball history outside of Chuck. NOBODY could win at Auburn consistently. Much less take us to consecutive tournaments. The equivalent is taking Vanderbilt to a college football playoff and multiple sec title games. For 100 years we have been the cellar of the sec in basketball. IMO Bruce is a top 5 coach in sec history in any sport. Truly remarkable

Well, that depends on what metrics you use to determine what makes a coach the greatest of all time.
But whatever your metric is, Bruce pearl is not it.

More of a testament to your program ignoring basketball for ever.
The Pearl hire was a home run IMO, he alone built excitement in that program and was by far the best hire in sports they’ve made. Anyone paying attention knew he can win.
But many other coaches have done a hell of a lot more, and I like Pearl.

He hasn't won consistently at Auburn yet. He had a losing record just last year.
They have a good team this year and will make a run. They have a great recruiting class coming in. Odds are he will compete consistently ,but he hasn't done it yet. You guys are acting very aggie like .

Why do you think he isn’t? Being a kentucky fan I would expect you to know your basketball history and how bad Auburn has always been. I don’t think any other coach could have done what he has. Legendary status
Eddie Sutton built our team from saw dust to a final four, then Richardson took us to a natty. Two coaches who have done as well or better.
We were fodder before these two guys.

This isn’t true.
Cal and Barnes have done it, just among current SEC coaches. I’m sure there’s a decent sized list.
