4,872 yards. 47 TDs. 7 picks.

2,862 yards. 29 TDs. 7 picks.

2000 yards and 18 extra TDs isn't exactly an inconsequential difference in performance.

Because our play calling took the foot off the gas in the second half of almost all our games, Stetson couldn't pad his stats the way Young had to, with so many 4th quarter games. That's where more advanced stats like YPA and QBR come into play.

Maybe we should have beat everyone by 60 instead of 30, just so Stet could get his totals up?

Go back to your favorite NFL team, college ball isn't for you.

Let me explain this in a way you might understand, you might need to sit down for this.

Pretend JT Daniels never lost his job.

In every game, he led the team to 30 point leads in the first half before either getting sidelined for backup reps or just handing the ball off to run clock. Therefore, JT's totals don't approach Young's. But he leads in YPA and QBR. You don't think that you, personally, would be making a case in your mind for JT to have been in the Heisman conversation?

Yep. That difference isn’t “perception”. Thankfully our guy was better on Monday.

Yeah, I was going to say. Also, there were a couple of games, Auburn comes to mind, where he had to lead his team on winning drives late in the game.

Illogical comparison. Had Bennett thrown as many passes as Young HAD TO THROW, he would have had 3660 yards and 57 TDs, with 14 ints.
Bennett threw when he needed to. The run game did the rest.

While true....Bryce Young threw the ball 547 times
Bennett threw the ball 287 times. That had a little to do with the other statistics.

What kind of stats do you think Bennett would have had if he had thrown the ball 260 more times?

The types of offenses run by the teams mad a bit of a difference.

The two QBs should not be compared to each other for this reason.

Bryce young was right for the type of offense Alabama ran, and Stetson Bennett was right for Georgia.
Interesting side note....Alabama was decimated by injuries to their RBs all year. Had they stayed healthy, Young would not have thrown the ball nearly as much and probably would not have won the Heisman.

Taking it a step further, had their RBs stayed healthy and Alabama stayed a bit more balanced on offense our defense would have had a tougher time shutting down Bryce Young in the title game, and it might have turned out very differently.

It was just our year.

Oh and one other "small" difference: Young did it this season as a sophomore. Bennett is a 6th year senior.

This thread shows how desperate a few people are in their weird Bennett fetish.
