Each year - what makes them work?
What are the weaknesses?
What is missing?
Style?
Does anything stand out?

Miller could catch and block. Najee is a little flashier back.

Bill tried to use the TE but neither are special.

If Bill comes back and I think it's unlikely... I think he and Young will sit down and analyze what worked and what didn't. I think we'll see a differnt offense next year. If our OL is strong, we can go turbo fast.

I think Cam Latu will be. He needs to work this off-season on his route running ability and blocking!!

Billingsly had a very disappointing season. Saban called him out in press conferences for a reason, because he has the potential to be special. But he dramatically regressed this year.

And needs to learn how to catch a damn pass.

Hopefully one of these new recruits can step forward in 2022 at H-back. No way you send out 19 again in 2022?

I'll take the 2020 version on 19. Not the 2021 version that read his own press hype and played halfassed all year. That version can piss off.

Having Sark for two years really helped. The players understood his concepts well. Sark really used the entire field with verticals as well as screen, wheel routes, etc.

I mean, there is always room for improvement but I think Latu has done pretty well for being brought over from the defensive side of the ball.

I wouldn’t mind seeing 19 in the portal.

2020 Team. Was a legendary offense. The leadership on that team was even better. Veterans all over the field. Best OL,QB,WR and RB in college football that year. Maybe ever…

This yrs team was no where close to that. Saban knew it and pretty much said it in the fall. To many injuries to key players again, a lot of you think about it especially in the last month and losing Jamo in that game was a dagger to a degree.

But what this team did is a staple to what Saban preaches. Didn’t win it all, but they played their guts out to get there. Nothing to be ashamed about. But that’s what makes Saban and his teams great, they have shame and will feed off of it in the off season.

OL detail is missing. Huge importance to the success/failure each year. 2021 year we had a strong LT but the rest o the line all had issues/concerns. No true anchor at center. bridge guys at guard had strength an quickness issues (LG still has time to improve), RT nothing left to be said.

Style?

2016 - Lane Kiffin OC - Shifts, Motions to uncover reads for QB - formation, play action, route, play stacking to create the look and action he wants from the DC then a gotcha strike. Full use of field width with layered depth in routes. Largely pre-snap read set-up for QB with defined routes tailored toward the D of the week. Need for a high end RB &/or mobile QB to cover play breakdowns. High end WR to beat his cover man if the play stack guess or timing was wrong.

2017 - Brian Daboll OC - Pro style play progression with strong running back (personal protector for QB). He preferred pre-snap reads with post snap adjustments but did not have the QB to pull that off. Ridley was his only true weapon at WR capable of on the fly route reading but QB was a one read and fly type.

2018 - Mike Locksley OC - Pre-snap read RPO tactician. Had the WR's to run option routes but not the QB ideally suited to do them. Best route adjustments were when the primary play broke down and adjust while scrambling.

2019 - Steve Sarkisian OC - Blended Locksley RPO with Kiffin predictive play stacking. Started teaching option route structure but not ideally suited for the QB he had. Had the WR room that could do anything he wanted to do. Good at working RB's into the overall plan.

2020 - Steve Sarkisian OC - 2020 was the first time we got to see the vision Sark had for his offense. Had the WR's, RB's and QB to deploy his full field, multi-layer option route structure. Also had the O-line to make it workable Blended the best of Kiffin with his high end pro style attack. Adjust to whatever the DC tries to do with pre-snap set-up and post-snap adjustments. The QB to match the WR capability made Sark's vision fly.

2021 -Bill O'Brien OC - Did not have the Oline to fully deploy what he wanted to do. Had the QB and WR's (two of them anyway) to crush you but not the Oline to allow his desired plan to work fully. Did not have the all-purpose back (most of the season) to blend with B-Rob. BoB's success was limited by his Oline consistency in production. O-Line coach was a big part of that problem. He was better at managing ability than at developing ability. Too buttoned up in his approach. Needs more Kiffin swag to expand his creativity in play stacking. Needs more Sark/Kifin pre-nap shift & motion to dictate D alignment.
