Phht. It would be a stretch to say there are 10 teams that would beat this one at full strength. Let alone 20. AP sucks balls.

I figured we would be a little better than 21. Isn't that where we were before the Outback Bowl? You'd think we would move ahead of at least a few teams that either lost or opted out of their bowl game.

Disagree...

Dude, I am not normally the antagonist at all. I love our Razorbacks. But, to say there aren't 10 teams that would be us at full strength?

Really?

Same. I was surprised by that. We were around #21 heading into bowl season and saw a few teams above us lose. BYU (13), Oregon (14), and Iowa (15) are three that come to mind.

Given the fact that those three lost, I figured we were a lock for #19 at least. Even Pittman told the team in the locker room after the Outback Bowl that they won 9 games and would be in the top 20, so he’s likely surprised as well.

To accentuate how divorced from reality the AP Poll is, A&M essentially finished #26 and led all the “others receiving votes.” Asinine.

CBS sports just released their early pre-season ranking and Hogs at #10. This is the second I’ve seen with Arkansas within the top 10 for next year.

20 teams aren't better than Arkansas by talent. AP is trash and biased.

That is a bit high but I guess they have a lot of confidence in Sam.

Joel klatt, RJ young, Dallas morning news and now cbs sports now all have Arkansas in the top 10 heading into next year. Seems like even with our losses in the secondary we are still predicted to have major success

A bit of a stretch considering the players that we're losing.
But hell, I'll take it.

What a minute? So we didn't move up after our bowl win? Screw the AP Poll!

Ole Miss ended #11. No way there should be that much of a gap between us. We lost by one point at their place after going for two to win the game.

I would put Arkansas between 18 and 15. Ole Miss should have dropped more.

Really.
Sure Losses
Georgia
Bama

50/50
Rest of the top 10

OM beat us with Cat being pretty much a liability, on their home field, by us missing a 2pt.
AU the entire team was spent and it was obvious.
Doubt even the rest of the top 10 outside of Bama/Georgia would be favored by anymore than a TD at a neutral site.

Thin depth and an insane schedule is what what got us that record. Could teams outside of the top 10 beat us? Sure, but with everyone healthy and playing we would be favored in every game.

Should have been in the 15-17 range. I doubt many people that voted in the poll watched more than 5% of the games this year beyond highlights.

We played 7 of the top 16 most talented teams in the nation with 5 of the 7 being road/neutral site games. We went 1-2 on the road, 2-0 neutral site and 1-1 at home with the home loss being to AU after playing A&M/Georgia/OM in a row away from home. This was a really good team.

Look at the opponents Bama and Georgia faced. Michigan did no better against Georgia than Arkansas did. Cincinnati was soundly defeated and while it can be said that they have a better defense, they lacked an offense like Arkansas that could challenge them.

I think the problem is not that we aren’t a top 10 but the difference in 1-4 and 5-10 is astronomical.

Edit: Why we can’t be a top 10 team, not that we are currently.
