That’s the guy. During a tense tourney game between Indiana and LSU, Bobby Knight stated in a postgame interview “I looked over at the other bench and saw Dale Brown sitting there. That’s when I knew we had a chance”.

He and Cal should be buddies. Both have done the least with the most talent.

Enough of that. Dale Brown was not only a great basketball coach - but a great individual. Much respect for that guy.

He got the ovation at Rupp during his final season that he earned. A fantastic coach that gave as good as he got. And also, when you listened to him outside of basketball, a scary smart guy with a lot of really eclectic interests.

We need more Dale Browns.

Rick Barnes couldn't get past the first weekend with Kevin Durant.

Johnny Jones failed to make the NCAA Tournament with Ben Simmons.

Larry Bird never won an NCAA Title.

Michigan had Chris Webber, Juwan Howard and Jalen Rose and couldn't win a title.

Mark Turgeon couldn't get past the opening weekend with D'Andre Jordan or Khris Middleton.

When Shaq and Stanley Roberts signed with LSU to join Chris Jackson, Wimp Sanderson actually said, “This team is so talented that even Dale Brown can’t screw it up.”

I guess Dale showed Wimp…

I don't really care if LSU loses. The fact that they showed up is a huge win by any measure.

Wrong Tigers vs Wildcats game — this thread’s about round ball.

People keep saying this and that they only so and so number of players and yet somehow cant figure out the reason they only have so many is because the rest of them already quit.

Baffling to say the least.
