2021 was a down year for college football

Straight up ... there were no truly dominant teams this year.
Bama is young. Defense is improved sure, but both offense and defense have made some major mistakes. They will be NC's though if for no other reason than they just have great talent on both sides of the ball and they have Nick Saban.
Georgia has a very good defense but a lousy offense. Their one chance to win it all and Bama is just their kryptonite.
Michigan was a fraud. No surprise at all there.
Cincinnati was ok for a G5 team but they just didn't belong.
Ohio State was flawed. Lost to a Pac12 team at home and to Michigan. Decent team but just couldn't win consistently when they needed to.
Notre Dame is afraid to play anyone. And sure they can get to 11-1 no problem but when they play a Power 5 team that matters, they get pummeled.
and the rest don't really matter. There simply are no great teams this season.

True.
No stacked bama team.
No Trevor Lawrence Clemson team.
No Zeke, Thomas, Bosa Ohio State team.
No Burrow, Chase LSU team.
Just bama on a down year, a G5 team, UGA that was blown out in SEC title game, and a mediocre Michigan team that beat OSU because the stars aligned.

Even though the championship ended up being same old same old I thought it was a fun year

Any idiot who knows football knows Georgia has a below average offense. Ask any Georgia fan.

Completely agreed. Bama is stacked but with a bunch of young players. They'll be much better next season.

Maybe below average for a potential championship winner but not below average in the grand scheme of things.

That's kind of what we're talking about here. Try to keep up.
