We might be 4th from the bottom in the SEC at this point

As a football program.
As I’ve said for many years now (under the last 5 years of the Gus regime), we are risking becoming Vanderbilt-level (as we nearly were in the pre-Dye 80’s).
Welcome to our present and near-future.
Here we are after 11 years of Chizik, Malzahn, and a year of Harsin. And under a new AD regime more concerned about political appearance over performance.
Very little of it is Harsin’s responsibility, but some is, of course. His first year was in no way encouraging, however.
Watching crap teams like South Carolina and Tenn in this bowl season. Crap teams? Yeah. Better than us? Yeah. Better than us at the QB position? Easily (including even if the Duck had chosen to stay).
Tough times, baws. I like the recruiting class. I like the transfers. We NEED more quality transfers at OL and QB. The OL in that shitty bowl game was god awful.
Thank god for Bruce.

Not as a whole but we definitely had some bright spots.

What’s the reasoning for this?

Emails and magazines I get as a past and current athletic department supporter.

I'm not sure what that means either

OP was a big Jacobs supporter
No offense, beatbammer. Just providing some background to the natives that are confused about that line

Didn’t hate JJ like the approved children did = “big Jacobs supporter”
I didn’t know JJ from Adam’s house-cat, my dude, I just wasn’t a knee-jerk establishment hater.
I am now though. Lessons learned.
P.S. If anything, I was a big DAVID HOUSEL supporter (whether or not that was good or bad).

Thankfully I didn't take a drink of anything before I read that.

Our fanbase is so splintered right now. No way we can pull in the same direction to bring championships to Auburn.

Beatbammer: you forgot to list we already lead the nation in dead money and you think every QB should be like Cam by the third year and if they’re not bitch like hell until they’re gone.

I need Harsin to re-sell himself. This current valley he's dug himself into isn't encouraging.

When's the last time a fan base made a tackle or completed a pass?

Every fanbase is splintered until a championship coach comes along.
When things are going wrong, everybody has an opinion.
When things are going right, everybody shuts up.

We are one of 3 programs to go to a national championship in the last decade. We are not the 10th best program. Good grief

Only thing I disagree with, is who you compare Auburn to. I think we are on the verge of becoming the last 10 years of TN. Harsin clearly wasn't the first or second choice. We settled. No way was he at the top of the list. I think he's a good coach, but damn if the odds aren't stacked against him. Gus did him no favors with WR and OL talent. So he's got to go out and compete for kids against Kirby, Saban, Kiffin, and now Kelly. Now his 3 year starting QB has left, and the best he has is Finley. Things look really bleak for next season already, and then remember we go to Tuscaloosa and Athens next year.

4th from the bottom, lol. UGa and Bama are only teams that got anything on us from a program perspective. I have full confidence Harsin is building a culture. Question will be finding a QB to get him there. Nix wasn’t it for whatever reason. Must have been less about performance and more off field which was Harsins focus this year as well.

Wonder why this is?
Wonder why the AD seems immune to criticism?
Wonder why it will be hard to get rid of him?
Hmmm, I wonder.
