Found a cool site, evanmiya, it is great for analytics of college basketball. The most interesting thing to me is that they grade lineups for all teams based on offensive efficiency and defensive efficiency.

We have had many issues this year, one of the biggest in my mind is we still really don't know the best starting line up for this team. Obviously match ups matter so there isn't a standard answer for every game but still helpful to know what the best line ups look like in a vacuum.

This is the top 5 line ups overall with a minimum of 10 possessions.

A few things we can notice right away

-JD shows up in 5 out of 5 line ups

-Davis and Jwill show up in 4 of the 5 line ups

-Lykes, Toney and Vanover show up in 3 of the 5 line ups

-Umude shows up in 2 of the 5 line ups

-Jaxson shows up in 1 of the 5 line ups

IMO this tells us that JD, Devo, Jwill and Jaxson need to be in the main group. Throw in Wade, Toney or Umude depending on who starts stepping up. Vanover shows up a decent amount but think that is still due to him being able to abuse certain small teams in OOC.

One thing I forgot to add, Jaxson only shows up once but his sample size is much smaller so it is remarkable for him to be on the 3rd best line up.

These guys and Toney are probably our best defensive lineup without sacrificing too much offense. Also feels like the roles are better defined assuming we let Devo run point (I might be off base, but it feels like our offense is much smoother when JD doesn't bring the ball up court).

I guess their has to be a 'best', but our best hasn't clicked this year. Starting to doubt they will.
No real presence down low. No tenacious D.
No real floor leadership.

A few weeks ago I would have agreed for sure but I think Wade helps us on switches more. Having said that Toney still brings more to the table overall I beleive and the sample size for Wade really isn't big enough to know either way.

100% agree with this, the idea of Lykes or JD being the answer at point is for sure over. Devo has slowly done a great job for us at the point, he has to stay out of foul trouble. He is too important for us.

I do agree with this. Wade could give some valuable minutes as a defender. Him and J. Robinson have definitely earned increased roles.

Yep and I will be interested to look at this site again when these guys get more minutes to see where the lineup stands

Best overall player on the team. This makes sense to me. Not the best team player unfortunately.

These two are great and can be great team players really need to see Davis become the floor general.

Lykes generates points sometimes but no assists or defense so..
Vanover is really tall, and about as athletic as i am....he's no match for anyone athletic.

Toney has been efficient of these 3.

This is where I struggle umude or Jaxon need to step it up. Seems like muss thought umude was further ahead. Umude just isn't good enough to be the guy for us.

Im still just not sure on Jaxon's sample size. I wish he had more minutes but muss was apparently not ready to try him out till SEC play......Umude just doesn't score enough for me, moody was about as lights out a shooter as we've had....

It is small but so far it has been good based on what we have to work with, plus we don't have alot of positive signs for us right now. His defense has been solid too.

He has been underwhelming for sure. He did have a really solid game yesterday. Hopefully he can build on that.

Pio = Vanover, impressive size of posting history but a surprising lack of ability.

I need more minutes
