What will it have to take to get decent basketball and baseball teams in a state with so much talent in both sports? What's the problem? Does our Admin suck that bad and don't care about these sports? I mean, it's really pathetic.

the former one did. I think the current one will be much better but he's only been on the job like a year. Crean will be gone after this year and I susepect stricklin won't be far behind.

It would take a UGA administration overhaul.
UGA is among the most profitable universities so it's hard to argue against the economic strategy of our administration.
However, we are only competitive in 1 out of the top 3 sports so there seems to be an opportunity cost.
Other SEC schools like LSU, Alabama, Auburn and Florida have invested in all 3 sports while remaining profitable and it shows in their results. And even Tennessee and South Carolina, while not competitive in football in the last decade, are at least competitive in 2 out of the 3 top sports.

We need to drop the legacy shite in our AD. Football is set hire the best basketball centered AD in the country.
Strickland caught a bad break in 2019 but people dont understand how far we are behind the rest of the sec in the arms race. Terrible.

Major cash has just been committed to renovating and updating Foley Field. Let's see how that goes.

I have always been under the impression that football and only football mattered. Until Kirby got here even football was not supported the way Alabama or LSU supports it.
The baseball field is a dump compared to most other teams in the SEC. The basketball program can not recruit top talent and when they recruit very good talent, they bail after a year or so. With the one and done plus the transfer portal I don't know how any program can build a basketball program. A good program might can hold on but a bad program like Georgia can't begin to get over the hump. If Crean is fired or given a contract extension, it won't make any difference.

Ever been to Cameron Indoor.
It’s a f’n dump. Yet some how Duke continues to have excellent teams.
When UGA has the right coach, they win. It has nothing to do with the building.

For some reason there is a contingent on the board that thinks we have to build a new basketball stadium and baseball field to be competitive in each sport. Rather spend money on a coach, which they tried to do with Crean, just hasn't worked out at all.

I really don't get how we have fallen so far behind in basketball. The Crean hire looked good at first but it's not working out. Still most of my alumni friends only care about football. When I was in school I would say we were ahead of Florida and Tennessee in hoops but they have jumped way ahead. It really felt like were were establishing a program when Tubby was here but unfortunately he had ties with Kentucky and Pitino so jumped. Brooks has to know his hire in basketball will do a lot to establish his legacy.

I am old enough to remember when Florida sucked at basketball about as bad as Georgia sucked at basketball.
