Just heard an interview with Bryan Matthews on the am740 app out of Montgomery on the John & Barry Budweiser Sportsline.

Good news: He expects Auburn to finish inside the top 20 tomorrow and possibly inside the Top 10 by Feb. signing.

Bad News: O Line will have to come from the portal

With all the changes, that would be pretty incredible if it happens.

Feel free to join us in the recruiting thread too

We'll be at 20 today on the eve of signing day. Obviously, other schools are also going to be adding guys and moving as well. My guess is we'll be at 15 or better tomorrow or by Friday when M'ba announces. No clue what February will look like yet until more schools fill classes

This staff is bringing it. Hope we have a big finish.

Close strong tomorrow, add a few elite recruits/transfers from now until February, and head into Next season ready for Penn State in week 3. Would be a huge momentum win for the Program.

We’ve got to figure out the QB position and land several transfer O-lineman.

We’ve known this for a long time. That’s why I don’t understand flipping out about being at the bottom of the SEC in early months.

Who cares? Just about where we end up at the end of the day. Which still won’t be great. Top 20 isn’t going to cut it but it’ll do for this class. Need to step it up for next year.

We do have two Olineman that’s are possibilities not from the portal. Won’t be till Feb though.

I think those of us that follow recruiting understood what was going on. We benefited from some turnover which made our staff's short relationships longer by comparison than the new coaches around us. So it was a slow burn.

Plus you have to deal with lazy national media members citing our shitty recruiting because they also don't have the bandwidth to know our recruiting beyond a current rank.

Anyway, all this to say I understand why people were freaking out. If we finish #15 it's still not necessarily a "great" class. But it's solid. And as I've been saying repeatedly - 2023 class will be their first full class cycle and those relationships will have more pull.

I agree. There are some fantastic coaches on this staff and I believe, if given time, they will shine brighter than most can see currently, for sure.

Oh man, those poor rantards are going to be so upset when they can't make fun of our recruiting ranking anymore

Most of them still haven't figured out that Tank isn't actually in the portal

If we for some reason get a top 10 class, I will literally take the day off, pop popcorn, and watch the melts. Will be so, so sweet.

No problem, I've been keeping out of those threads for months bc it's been pretty clear we would finish a lot higher than we've been sitting.

Sometimes you just gotta let the idiots have their fun while it lasts

We are not signing a top 10 class. Let’s just go ahead and establish that before y’all have a come apart.

This will be a disappointing class by Auburn standards. It will not be bottom of the SEC level class either.

When do we raid the portal? Any easy answer to how that works. Timing?
