The Heisman Trophy, set to be awarded Saturday night, goes to the “outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity.”

Paul Finebaum said the pick is simple.

On Thursday, the SEC Network analyst joined me on “The Opening Kickoff” on WNSP-FM 105.5 and revealed his Heisman Trophy ballot.

“It’s pretty simple really,” Finebaum explained. “The first two are simple: Bryce Young and Will Anderson. After that, it’s really open for debate.”

Did Johnny football have integrity when he was a druggie and beat his girlfriend up?

Crowley, who was 23 at the time, first told officers that Manziel had “hit her a couple times” and “shoved her head into a window,” according to a police report

I agree. I think the award should be reclassified as going to the best player on the best team. Not the best player. It would be more honest.

The trophy is as prestigious as it gets. However, they definitely need to change how they vote. There is way too much regional bias. There needs to be a committee that nominates the finalists and selects the winner. No journalists.

They're all so subjective! The best player at what?..running? throwing? blocking?, tackling?....etc.
If you want to break the trophy down according to position, then fine, but it's stupid to lump them all together.

That's what likely hurt Anderson is you had more voting for Young, they were taking votes from each other
You can't argue with what Hutch has done this year either

They gonna give it to Anderson just so they can say a defensive player won it next season

Yep, I can’t argue that he has been less than 1/2 of Will Anderson in a lesser conference.

Steve Spurrier in 2007 left Darren McFadden off his ballot on purpose so Tebow would have a better shot at winning.

Mind you, he was the head coach of SCar at the time and just watched DMac run for about 350 yds on his team just a couple weeks before...

Yet the RB wasn't even good enough to make to tip 3 according to Spurrier.

Dude has always been an arse. That's why the voting is a joke.

What you’re saying is an issue, but Finebaum’s vote for the first two this year isn’t part of that issue. I think it is truly reasonable to vote for those guys 1 and 2. Bryce will obviously win, but Will Anderson is probably the best defensive player in the country this year.

Tebow didn't get one first place vote in his senior year from the west coast. Still got second place.

I wanted to upvote, but you had 21 upvotes and 0 down votes. I think it should stay that way.
