Several comments; This is a condensed second half of a game with Miss State vs LSU. I came across this last night while googling something else. This was played in the old Jackson Memorial stadium in Jax Ms. Some other observations below.
LINK
First, I had to look up how old ESPN was on wiki and since they were founded in 1979, that makes this one of their first college football games to air. Pretty cool
Second, who are these ESPN announcers, anyone know? I think I know who one is but don't want to look stupid haha.
Thirdly, this was John Bond's first year to QB for Miss State.
Last, you will notice something funny later in the game that is hilarious. MSU had just scored and was about to kick off to LSU. Our #17 is holding up both the game and our kicker because he is waving his arms trying to get the crowd into it. Today that would be a penalty lol. Oh how times have changed.
ETA: Never mind, I thought the announcer was saying "Richard" but your QB was RISHER and I guess it's pronounced similar .

I think it’s Jim Simpson and Bud Wilkinson

That was during the days of the double header in Jackson. State and OM would both play a game against an SEC opponent at the same stadium.

Actually, I meant to comment on our helmets. Those were the best looking helmets we ever had.

Great announcers
Fair refs
Hard nosed football with O line in 4 pt stance and firing off the ball
Football was awesome then

Damn, that was when football and ESPN were both great products.

This season is the first one I remember. Loved these Bulldogs then, and all the way up to the present!

Wow! What a way to start the 2nd half! John Bond threw a beautiful long ball on that 3rd TD of the half.
That was 1 of State's best uniforms, especially the helmet, IMHO.

Ha. Yeah I saw Archie and his broken arm against LSU. I tried to avoid John Bond back in the day.

It's the one I vividly remember and solidified me as a bulldog. McDole, Young, Haddix, Bond, cooks,

More fun to watch actually hitting, not “hawk tackling”
