This dude nails it and perfectly explains the thing that has felt “off” with this team for the last 5 years in big games.

Well, his rant is incorrect. UGA only punted twice in the 2nd quarter. Not 3 as he states. UGA was not down 24-10 either. The score was 17-17 near the end of the second Quarter when Bama drove down and gashed us making it 24-17 just before halftime.

He also says UGA can’t run it in a playoff game and win a “shootout”. Yet, that’s exactly what happened against Oklahoma. He also doesn’t recall the OT loss in the NC to Bama. Not one of his better rants, but he knows how to bait the right demographic for clicks and what they will eat. Good on him.
He usually does a decent job on film. I give him credit for that.

Why are you so vigorously opposed to any criticism of Georgia players or coaches?

Oklahoma is not Bama and it’s not ever been up for debate.

Unwarranted ?

Our best team just got curb-stomped by Saban's worst team since yr 1 at Bama. How is that "unwarranted"?

Unwarranted meaning the who and the why. There were a lot of reasons we lost that game.

People have questions. 5th year in a row where we have been bettered by Elite teams on the biggest stages.

Everybody understands that. If you’re specifically talking about the Stetson criticism, it’s not all unwarranted. The guy made some crucial mistakes that cost Georgia a chance to get back into the football game and him catching heavy heat for that in a game of that magnitude is completely fine and expected.
If you’re talking about the Kirby criticism, I think that’s completely warranted as well. This is the best team he’s ever had and he got flat outcoached in the biggest game of the year to date. Any coach in that situation should expect to be drilled for that.
There are also other problems. The defensive line got no pressure at all. William Poole got abused like an Alabama wife after a Bama loss. The offensive line allowed way too many pressures on Bennett, especially on that one fourth down play late in the third quarter.
All of that deserves to be called out. The quarterback position is always gonna catch the most heat. Nature of the position. Been that way for 50+ years.
Are fans going to be emotional, especially in the immediate after a blowout loss in a big game? Yeah. That doesn’t make everyone that disagrees with you a “cünt”. You lack just as much if not more maturity in acting the way you have as they do.

Quality post. We need more like those here and in general from our fanbase.

Kirby has the fanbase spoiled. We used to get bettered by mediocre teams on biggish stages.

Kirby doesn’t have the fan base spoiled at all. He has the talent on his rosters to win a Natty. Does he have an elite QB on the roster? Who knows? He is so bad at managing the position, no one can really tell. It isn’t anything new. He is conservative and stubborn. It just is what it is. The expectation for the vast majority of UGA fans is to put 1980 behind us once and for all. Winning the East and being embarrassed in big games is no longer acceptable to many UGA fans any more. Unless he gets a true legit elite QB and totally embraces playing more wide open offense, we will continue to see what we just saw. At this point in their careers, Coach Richt had more SEC titles than Kirby. Hard to compare them because of playoff era, but he had a few UGA teams that might of made the playoffs. Kirby needs to figure out how to take that next step. Situations like Saturday will turn the direction of a program very quickly.

Just because this Austin guy says it, it doesn’t mean it is true.
Ohio State beat Bama with their running back gashing them in 2014. Ohio State had over 50% runs in that game and more yards rushing than passing.
The next time Ohio State played Bama, they came with a generational talent QB (Fields) who threw the ball all season, but all of a sudden, saw defenses, coverages, and speed he had not seen all season and he was all but shut down. Another interesting note is Bama scored 28 points in the 2nd quarter of that game.

So what were your takeaways from the game? Why did we get stomped?

So how does this play out in your head. Monken and the other coaching staff banging their fists on the desk demanding that JT start because he’s obviously better….and Kirby refusing to do so?
Or Monken is scared to say anything for fear he’ll get fired and have to take a HC job somewhere else?
You realize these are adults in high pressure positions making adult decisions right?

I can talk about wishbone offenses from the 70s. What relevance does a game 7 years ago have on last weekend

I'm so, so on Brooks, but whatever, he had some interesting research in this.
He looked at the last 11 SEC/National title games that Alabama has played in. They are 8-3 in that seven year or so year stretch. In every game the running game was either neutralized below that team's average or it was stifled completely. In all 11 games the QB win or lose had at least 35-45 attempts, including last weekend.
Our philosophy on offense has been criticized as a dated approach, the results in big games for us and other teams against Alabama shows that the criticism is warranted, this isn't a sample size or trend, it's a near certainty.

I have been following his free content all season, I like and appreciate his content.
I'm only halfway through this one, in between conference calls and whatnot, but it needs to be said...
This whole season Brooks Austin has had Monken and Stetson's cocks in his big mouth simultaneously, and suddenly he's passionately telling his audience with all this historical evidence that they suck because Kirby won't let Monken do his thing. It's very disingenuous. If he'd been "warning" us all this time that Monken was being handcuffed by Kirby The Sherriff of Nottingham and Stetson wasn't really a big play QB, then he'd have some credibility with this particular rant.
I dare yall to spend the hours and hours to go back and look at all of his other youtube content throughout the season, then rewatch this one again, and tell me with a straight face that he isn't a little bit hypocritical on this one.
All I expect from my "journalists" and opinion guys is intellectual honesty, I don't expect them to get it right every time. But be consistent, admit you were wrong if you were wrong, issue corrections, say you've changed your mind based on new data, whatever. Just don't hit the ground on fire like you "knew it all along" when you've been saying the opposite for 12 months.
I was "this" close to actually subscribing to Brooks Austin so I could see all of his UGA content, but after this rant, that's a no from me dawg.
But as I began, I'm only halfway through it at this point. When I finish the rest later, maybe he'll win me back.

It’s interesting he’d do that because you’re right, he’s been all about Monken all season. Also, it’s not like he was out there talking up a guaranteed win for UGA.
