With the whole personality shift to “mostly nice smartass”, and his praise of the good things that everyone is doing vs what went wrong.....amongst other things, doesn’t it seem to anyone else that this may be the Swan Song..... especially if they win the trophy

Nope - we have 5 more years of him at a minimum.

According to Bama fans in the 4th quarter of the Iron Bowl on the scoreboard, yes.

Doesn’t seem like he’s done. He knew this was a rebuilding year with a younger team that lost even more talent and leadership than usual last year so he’s adjusted his approach a little. Everyone has down years and Saban knows his team well enough to recognize it and bring them along accordingly.

I would normally laugh at this and move on without commenting, however I think something is up. I don’t think Coach is a long goodbye kind of guy. I think it will happen suddenly. The man has other options to be a member of a “team”. His luxury dealerships give him a “team” atmosphere he craves. It’s also something different. He has nothing else left to prove. Only an idiot would argue otherwise. He’s at the apex, currently,. He saw Cecil Hurt battle quietly, bravely with a terminal disease. Life is short, make the most of it and in this sport he certainly has.

No he knows this team is young and learning how to be leaders and prepare for the games. The fact this team made and won the sec cg is amazing. If they find a way to win the Nc this year I honestly think they get 3 in a row. He MaY retire after that.

He returns the best players on both offense and defense in all of college football next season.

Nah, I think he'll stick it out a lil longer.

Holy shite Bama fans are spoiled, calling this a rebuilding year. Whoever the next coach is after Saban may actually get murdered after going 8-4

You seriously think a guy that has lived and breathed football his entire life can replace it with a sales team at his car dealership?

We lost

- Starting QB (1st round, #15)
- Starting RB (1st round, #24)
- #1 WR (1st round, #10)
- #2 WR (1st round, #6)
- Starting Left Tackle (1st round, #17)
- Starting Center (2nd round, #5)
- Starting Guard (6th round, #193)

- Starting Defensive Tackle (2nd round, #38)
- Starting ILB
- Starting #1 CB (1st round, #9)

So I mean........yea, it was. What would any other program call it if they were replacing all of that experience, talent and leadership?

With his family, sure. It’s actually what he wanted to do since his childhood. His father owned a small dealership. So absolutely. I don’t think he will grind out sales, but he’s a different cat, maybe he dominates. But probably won’t be directly involved day to day. His son is the GM I think.

He always recruits and has players coming back. I don't think you're going to see a big decline and him hang it up, it's going to be a great season with a big recruiting class coming up (because Bama always has that) where he decides it's enough and hangs it up.

I'm beginning to believe he'll die at work.

Next season is set up to be one of his better seasons. I think he’ll come back so he can add another championship.
