Alabama 2nd half possessions
TD
Punt
Punt
Punt
Field Goal

After Bama's first touchdown to go up 31-17, we forced 3 straight punts.

The defense gave us an opportunity to win in the 2nd half, and we could never get it into a one score game. Stetson is a game manager and is not going to throw us back into the game. That pick six was the backbreaker.

If Kirby has hell-bent on sticking with Stetson, he better come up with something on defense because we can't match them with this QB.

We are stickibg with stetson need to find better ways to run the ball.

Lots of old school play action.

Just to be clear this made 31 straight points given up in about 18 minutes of games time.

Our defense got worked

The defense also absolutely killed us in the first half. Why is it so hard for our fans to admit that our defense got absolutely worked yesterday?

Correct, they were bad. My point is that Stetson is not a QB that can win a game like this. We didn't capitalize on any stops the defense gives us in the second half.

I said it before the game and I'll say it again.

We just have to do what we do how we do it, and if they can stop it, then they deserve to win.

Yesterday, it looked like we abandoned so much of what got us to this point, schematically.

Credit to Alabama for having their shite together on both sides of the ball and executing well, and taking advantage of opportunities we gave them. Leave a receiver wide open? Bang. Throw a sloppy pass? Bang. Check up on a crossing route after the ball is already in the air? Bang. Give Bryce time to make cheese and crackers in the pocket? Bang.

We've seen Stetson against Bama twice. He was 5 interceptions.

Do you need to see him against them for a third time to be convinced?

I don't blame Kirby for starting Stetson, and I have/had hopes that JT would be utilized as the secret weapon a la Hurts/Tua and Tua/Hurts when the game is on the line. Kirby didn't do it, so I begin to wonder if JT has already checked out and is only there for emergency purposes with the understanding he won't enter the portal until after the season.

Can’t ask him to. We will lose games where we give up 31 straight points vs the GOAT coach fighting for playoff berth.

If the D does their job, we don't need Stet to ball out.

This is my theory as well. I believe that he told Kirby he's done, because it makes no sense to not put him in after the Stetson pick 6.

But then again, why did Jt take snaps against Mizzou?

Why is the burden of performance always on the defense?

What a shame none of the 5 stars on the roster could be ready...

This year? Because we have a game manager QB and lots of injuries to WRs.

Hopefully we can add a game changer at QB. If one is on the roster they apparently don’t know the playbook enough or aren’t prepped enough to play right now.

Not only that, its not really close.

I want to win a NC at all cost but for some bizzarre reason, it keeps coming back to Bennett.

I wish we could put his mind in Easons body. His brain far out plays is physical ability. Just support him as he has done more for us than we know.

Beginning to think Stockton may be the guy by the end of next season.

You cant be this dense.

It can go much worse than it did last night.

You want Faton Bautta to play...

A bat signal of some sort, showing other teams "he's healthy enough to take snaps in a live game" or something along those lines. Also, for his own recruitment, he's not allowed to communicate to other coaches until he officially enters the portal, so getting on the field is a bat signal to them that he's game-ready. I'm just spitballing here.

Lol what?

I think everyone knows it can get worse. I think people may just be wondering why 5 INTs out of a former walk on vs the best in college football is the best Kirby can do at QB…. We have had elite players at every other position in Kirby’s tenure.

It’s not recruiting. Fields, Vandagriff, and incoming Stockton. (Arguably convincing JT and Newman to transfer here)… so what is it?

Kirby should have been letting the young guys like Beck and Vanagriff throw the ball more during these second half blowouts. They're certainly more talented than Stetson.

It's too late now.
