What were the options? Did mizzou turn down an invite to another bowl in a different date? Wasn't one SEC team going to go to a non affiliated bowl?

Per Dave Matter, Mizzou told the SEC they preferred not being slotted during the Braggin' Rights game. The SEC ignored our request and placed us there anyways.
I remember thinking we'd stop getting fricked by the conference on bowl selections when we left the Big 12
(Not saying we deserved some great bowl or anything, but several SEC teams that were below us in the standings got preferable options)

One positive, we'll be the only bowl game that day and it's a night game on ESPN. Might be our most watched game of the season

The SEC placed Mizzou in that game by giving away all the SEC affiliated bowls. It's a game that's not affiliated with the SEC and probably Mizzou's only choice.

2nd worse home attendance behind Vandy, who gives a shite about basketball. It allows a game in Texas which is a positive. Bad side to me is playing Army a lose lose scenario. Win and it is just Army. Lose and yet another embarrassment. Though it has been better the run defense vs an academy could be a nightmare.
