We did almost everything that all of us on the board wanted to see

- Tons more motion, both pre-snap and orbit style (SECstatcat tweeted it was something like 2x our normal motion)

- Threw quick routes on early downs outside to try and stay in decent down and distance

- Creativity in max protection - we brought tight ends in on motion and even ran I-formation stuff

- 5 wide empty a lot, ton of bunch formations and tight bunches

- Ran the ball enough to keep them somewhat honest

- No huddle tempo that made Jordan Davis basically dead after 25 minutes and nearly a non factor

Hell of a job

Better late than never on the tempo, but yeah it made Davis a non-factor. He stuffed a couple of runs but otherwise did nothing the entire game.

I mean.......dude is Terrance Cody. Why did we hear so much about him? Because they played a bunch of teams that can't pass and he was allowed to wreck run games?

He's an insanely talented run defender. He is a total non factor pass rusher, and the whole "only playing 25 plays" thing is because he legit can't play many more without being incapable of moving.

Alabama had the same game plan that Utah and Oklahoma had against us in the Sugar Bowls that we lost. I also believe that the loss of Adam Anderson with his legal issues affected UGA. Bryce was clean yesterday and that was the difference.

That's an excellent parallel.

Agreed - he was by far their best pure, on his own pass rusher.

Yes and yes. Bryce was, far and away, the best QB they have seen all season and he torched them because aggressive blitzing on non-passing downs is anathema to Kirby. We got them stuck in run stopping fronts and were essentially playing 11 on 10.

That TD pass to Metchie, Davis literally couldn't move his feet after 2-3 seconds. He just stood there.

I'm very interested to see who steps in for Metchie. Brooks looks legit. Maybe JoJo Earl can get back to full health soon. I also want to see B Rob and Sanders healthy. They were beat up as hell yesterday. Sanders is a good receiver and B Rob has proven capable, too.

Yep - losing him hurts a lot because he's kind of the tactician to pair with Williams take the roof off. It was a great pairing.

But the good news is we have 3-4 hungry, super talented kids who have had an entire season of work and practice that are chomping to play and they get 4 weeks to prepare and get mentally ready to be that #2.

Not to mention 4 weeks for Billingsley to finish his slow climb back up the ladder that he's been on for the last 4-5 weeks.

Yep, I said the same thing before the game - Saban should be well aware of how to impact that kind of defenses ability to play their game. He certainly had to deal with it for a long time.

We always have some highly touted Freshmen step up in a big way after the bowl season practice. Brooks has clearly been putting in the work given how much Saban trusts him and then got a big taste of success against Auburn.

This is still the same team that has struggled against inferior competition all year, but now we know what they are capable of when they put a complete game together.

I've been waiting all season for Billingsley to reach his potential. Hopefully he can step up when he's needed most. Hopefully he and Latu both make an impact. Also intrigued about Leary. He was in the game yesterday but didn't have any touches that I saw.

- tunnel RPO (2/3), 20 yds

Yeah, credit to him - he came in with a good gameplan and, maybe more than that, showed that he can mix things up a bit. Offense was absolutely in destruction mode for a while there. Still, though - and I haven't re-watched the game or anything, so I'm just kinda going on initial impressions formed in the middle of a lot of EAT shite KIRBY thoughts - it seemed like things really bogged down and we failed to adjust when Georgia changed its approach late game. Especially with the blitz counter stuff a lot of fans have been frustrated with this season.

We still need a screen game. Gonna get max blitzed A LOT. Maybe even a few designs QB draws. Not many, but just for respect.

Agreed. Other than calling for some screens to to offset our OL troubles , I think BOB has done a good job. Not as imaginative as Sark but we have been top 3-10 offense all year
