Surprised to see this one on the schedule. Even more surprised to see the line at Auburn -15.5. What am I missing? Pearl sitting all the starters today? Are we just going to play 3 on 5?

Seriously, this doesn't make any sense.

You do realize Yale has been in the last two NCAA tournaments and is usually an annoying team to play, right?

They have one blowout loss to Seton Hall. Everything else has been competitive.

Lines like these are tricky because Yale could come out and shoot 38 3’s at a 50% clip and win. They shoot the 9th most 3’s in the country. They don’t turn the ball over either.

I think the line is fair. More often than not Vegas is correct.

Yep and in the one blowout Yale shot 13% from 3. That is an outlier. We should win comfortably but our three point defense isn’t our strong suit and even if we destroy them all it takes is a couple garbage time threes to get the margin down substantially.

Al dot com article said this:

James Jones has built Yale into one of the preeminent teams in the Ivy League, and the Bulldogs are going for their third straight conference regular-season title this season. Jones, in his 22nd year with the program, is — as Bruce Pearl put it — “one of those guys that you don’t schedule.”

“So, that’s why (Auburn assistant) Mike Burgomaster scheduled him,” Pearl said.

“You play against teams like this, they run such great stuff that they challenge your defense because it’s so hard to guard,” Pearl said. “… They do a good job of taking care of the ball, they’ll basically play four guards. They do a great job of taking care of the basketball.”

Guys we are still heavy favorites to win. -15 is a pretty big line. Do y’all expect it to be -30 or something?

Seriously, a 16 point win to cover would be awesome. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Just came back to LOL at all the naysayers who didn't see what I saw before tipoff, and defended that low Vegas line.

Looking forward to seeing Flannigan on the court.

I'm almost certain I know more about that subject than most. That line was glaring bad out of Vegas. Thought I had missed something on my initial handicapping. Looks like I didn't. Cashed that ticket!
