Anybody else concerned our offense only improved b/c of who we've played?

In our hot streak, we have played:
ULM
MSU
Arkansas
Ole Miss

None of which have a good run defenses. In fact Arkansas and Ole Miss' run defense were absolutely horrid before we played them...

Looking at the defensive rankings a couple weeks ago, I was thinking Vandy would be a better gauge. They've since fallen off and are below MSU in run defense.

UGA has also been climbing the rankings and look like they might be our first real test in quite some time in this department. Obviously Alabama is very stout in this area too.

So basically my question is, is anyone concerned that our resurgence is due to the team's we've played and the favorable match ups we've had rather than an actual improvement?

Nope. We moved at will on LSU outside of the redzone.

We shifted our Oline around and we haven't looked back since.

If it was just ULM and MSU, then yes. Arky and Ole Miss no. Both those teams have played good teams this year very well. They aren't great teams, but they are tough teams.

Right but is that issue going to start popping up again when we can't run like we have been?

We didn't run at will that game like we have the others.

We also hadn't made the OL changes that game IIRC.

Maybe. The expectation for Vandy, UGA, and Bama is somewhere in the middle.

OL play, play calling, and our offensive unit in general have gotten better along with our scheduling easing up to allow that growth.

Auburn nationally in October

- No. 2 offense (576.5 ypg)
- No. 4 scoring O (48 ppg)
- No. 6 scoring D (13.3 ppg)
those numbers are impressive against any P5 competition

How many yards per carry did Pettway have against Clemson?

There's your answer.

We hadn't. But we also haven't seen the new Oline against decent competition. I know they're all SEC defenses but it's not like we have non-SEC defenses coming up.

I'm not saying they aren't impressive. Just a little concerned for UGA and Bama.

I think we can possibly run like this against UGA. I don't think we will against Bama.

What about his yards per carry against LSU? Pettway was involved in the offense before the turn around.

People would be dumb to ignore that our strengths on offense have rolled roughshod over other team's magnified weaknesses. That's not the only reason why our offense has improved though.

Sean is going to be the X factor pretty soon as our rushing attack will soon be stalemated by a better defense selling out against the run. Hope it works out.

nope.

Our O has improved because we have become unpredictable. We actually will throw on first down. Our OL has improved and is opening up gaping holes. We have settled in on one QB. The list goes on and on.

We have improved, but it isn't completely off base to notice the improvement has come against lesser competition. We did move the ball between the 20's well against LSU. At the end of the day not a single person knows if SW can win a game. I suspect we will find out soon. He has the intangibles to do it.

I also believe it matters that this team is beating average or below average teams badly.
