Justin Fields is not our backup QB, he is our second QB. He played with the ones and played well. He will play in every game. No question about it.

He gives other teams a lot more to have to prepare for during the week. Even if we stick with Fromm for an entire game, Fields alone requires more practice time and prep work for coaches just on the off chance that he comes in and plays. Kirby and Co. showed just enough of his ability (as well as that of Robertson, Cook, etc) to make prepping for UGA a real pain in the arse.

I think the overall team skill position speed is huge. Fields, Mecole, Roberson, cook, swift...Nauta and the TE’s are going to be 1 on 1 with linebackers all year

I dont think he will be played every game. Fromm is a field general. Fields is good but hasnt proved he is the field general like Fromm. Expect him to play only when we are ahead by double digits this year

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Fields still needs work

Do you think those QB runs were due to happy feet or covered receivers?

Based on what I saw, they were mostly planned runs or due to covered receivers.

I realize this is looking ahead, but I wonder if we're capable of beating Bama with Fromm. We came close, but athletic QBs who can run and throw give Bama fits.

Fromm didn't lose the game, so yeah he can certainly beat Bama

Honestly? A little of both combined with a dash of opportunity.
The routes I remember only had two receivers going out. Seemed the coaches wanted to keep as much protection in to give Fields time to watch the routes forming without worrying about a sack.
He seemed to pull the ball down prematurely once and started running. Another time, he saw a gaping hole open in front of him and couldn't resist....which, btw, was the right decision.
He looked a bit more nervous, but began to settle down.
If we are in a tight game, i want Fromm in there. Fields will get better, and might become to better QB overall, but the poise and leadership traits Fromm seems to have been born with will have to be learned a bit more by Fields on the college level, He'll get there, but he isn't there yet.

yes. We can beat Alabama with Fromm. No mix up in the secondary last year and we would have done it.

I didn't say he did, but a QB who can kill you with his legs and his arms is incredibly difficult to plan for.
Truthfully, beating South Carolina is the only important thing now.
